Coding Dojo at DSM Web Geeks
You’re not going to want to miss out on Monday’s meeting. We’ll be bringing an entirely new concept to Des Moines – the Coding Dojo. Instead of our usual monthly meetup we’ll be exploring this collaborative web development strategy.
We’ll create spontaneous groups of people with varying skill levels who will then work together to solve the programming challenge of the evening. It will be collaborative, it will be fun, it will be challenging.
Monday at 7:00 pm at Impromptu Studio. Full details at http://www.dsmwebgeeks.com/2010/04/coding-dojo-may/

Just got home from DrupalCon 2010. Flew in on the Red Eye. That and DrupalCon withdraw is giving me the shAkes. Started to dig into work and then realized I get to talk Drupal again on Monday night.
I hope to see you all on Monday. Bring your questions. I'll pass on some highlights from the Conference.
Hope to see you all then.
Tracking Employee Time Off
Does anybody know of an module that allows employees to request vacation/personal/sick days?
I suppose it's straight-forward enough to put something together with workflows, actions, triggers, etc... but I'm a bit surprised it doesn't already exist. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong keywords?

Hey all!
Need a down payment (partial payment) module developed for Ubercart for a couple clients. Posted on the Ubercart bounty forum:

Was working with a guy who has a number of Uber-modules under his belt, but he went MIA so now kind of in a crunch. Any recommendations of people who could knock this out?

We'll start off again this month with Q & A for the Drupalistas in training. Then, I'll do a quick case study on TEDxDesMoines. As always, bring your questions, concerns, triumphs, failures, and any exciting Drupal news you want to discuss.

Hey all! I really enjoyed this last meeting! Man, somebody sure gets around...I was searching for Drupal hosting and came across an old post from your Michigan days, Michael:
http://groups.drupal.org/node/5385
I'm looking for recommendations for Drupal hosting. I don't want to manage the server myself and ideally I'd like separate accounts for each client (ie shared hosting). However, a managed server would be feasible too.
Only two requirements:

Read morebogus account requests
We have received two bogus requests for accounts and denied both, but I would like to know how to set things so these account requests don't even make the queue for our admins.
Specifically I wonder whether it is possible to require, for example, to require that the first and last names fields differ, that the zip code must be either 5 or 9 numbers, or the phone number must have 10 digits with either spaces or dashes. Any of these--or a combination--would have defeated the requests.

I just took a new Drupal site live.... and have two reasons for posting about it here:
1) While there is nothing technically advanced or unusual about this site, it was built in only one Saturday (for the most part). If we have any new members show up after the free Drupal training earlier this month, I thought they might be interested in seeing how a basic site like this can be put together so quickly. If anybody would like a walk-through, let me know.
2) I thought a lot of members of this group would be interested in TEDx and want to invite you all to come!

Not sure what I'm looking for is even possible so if you have any ideas please let me know.
What I'm trying to achieve can probably best be shown by example. On my IGO web site I've superimposed a "grid" over Iowa and created a Mapstraction view showing the geocahes that occur within selected grid squares. I use a pair of arguments in the URL to this view to specify which grid(s) to filter.
This link shows what I want to achieve.
