Developing Question

Hello All,

I need an advice/help.

I want to create a "tournament" with several "categories" within it and each "category" should be managable on its own.

The user should be able to add as many "categories" as s/he needs, when the minimum is 1.

The tournament has a few fields that related to all "categories".
Category has a few fields that apply only to itself.

Any idea? examples?

Thanks

Drupal on the BBC

Ouch, not the kind of headlines we want Drupal to make..
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29846539

Does anyone else think it's a dumb idea that by default, a meta generator element is added with 'Drupal 7' as a value, does this not make it easier for exploit scripts/bots?

User group meeting

Hi everyone,

The monthly Drupal Dublin meet up is this coming Wednesday (Oct 29th) from 7pm at Dara Creative's offices, 19 Magennis Place, Pearse Street, Dublin 2.

Format is a casual round table with impromptu presentations and discussion, often followed by pints in a nearby pub.

If anyone has any topics they'd like to speak about or issues they would like to try and solve, please feel free to comment.

Since we haven't met up since returning from DrupalCon Amsterdam, I think there will be loads to discuss - highlights, Drupal 8 BETA release...what else?

DrupalCamp Galway - not much accommodation on site left

Hi Folks,

Just got an email from Podumna (the venue for Drupal Camp) to say that they are almost sold out of accommodation for the weekend of Nov. 7th and 8th.

If you are looking for a pod or room, please get in contact with them asap - www.podumna.ie

+++++++++++++++

Other accommodation options include:

1) Oak Lodge B&B: Portumna's only 4* B&B (the website of which I maintain - so it'd be nice to "give back to the community") - www.oaklodgeportumna.ie

Booking Pods in Podumna for Drupal Camp

Hi Folks,

Just to mention, you cannot book accommodation for Drupal Camp Galway on the venue's website. This is because they have block booked the place for us.

To book a pod, you need to ring the venue and tell them you are coming to Drupal Camp. You can then reserve your pod for you/your company.

DrupalCamp Gothenburg 2014

DrupalCamp Gothenburg 2014

On the 15th of November we welcome our invited speakers Jeffrey A. "jam" McGuire and Kristof de Jaeger to "the capital of the west coast" in Sweden, for this year's edition of DrupalCamp Gothenburg.

This year, we have a new, bigger and better, venue. We also offer a goodie bag, organised pub crawl on the night before and hopefully a code sprint on Sunday. We have just opened session submissions and will present the submitted sessions beginning next week.

Drupal Camp Galway 2014 (Drupal Retreat), update

Hi Folks,

Not enough people have gotten back to me to commit to the Drupal Camp Galway retreat for me to make an official booking of the venue. We need about 30 and only about 15-20 replied so far.

Instead, I have asked the venue if we can just book the meeting room for the two days and let everyone look after accommodation the old fashioned way (i.e. - book it yourself). This should be fine.

how to start diagnosing a possibly corrupted site?

Hi all,
I actually love puzzling out bugs, but sometimes the way they manifest is just too obscure. Ive got one of those now on a D7.30 site, so I'd love to hear different strategies for narrowing down the search field, not just for this particular issue, but generally, since I imagine this might help others too.

The actual issue:

Tour De Drupal [Ireland to Amsterdam via UK]

So some people are planning to cycle to Amsterdam for Drupalcon.
https://twitter.com/TourDeDrupal
It's perhaps a little far to cycle all the way from the West of Ireland to Amsterdam, but Gavin is going to give it a shot.
I'm going to cheat just a little, and do the trip with a combination of train and bike. I plan to make my way across England and Wales over 3 days, with a good few train sections thrown in for good measure. We'll meet up somewhere before the ferry at Harwich, and hopefully meet the bigger Tour De Drupal gang along the way too.
