Drupal + Ionic for creating hybrid apps

Hi Folks,

Following on from a chat with Fergal from BT48 at Drupal Camp Belfast, I set about investigating Drupal and Ionic Framework for building hybrid apps over the Christmas break.

I've put together a tutorial on the Annertech blog about getting started in case anyone would like to give it a try.

Thanks to Fergal for the inspiration. I think I owe him a pint for that.

Willing to Work in Ireland

Hi Guys,

I am very much eager to work in Ireland. I have more than 6 years of work experience in Web development and currently I am working for Capgemini India on Royal Mail Group project.
What are the complications in getting a job offer there? And more importantly, will anyone entertain a foreign candidate who does not have Work Permit? I am willing to apply for one myself but unless I have a job offer I can not do so.
I would be grateful if someone could enlighten me on the queries above.

Thanks !

Sincerely,

Mandar.

Drupal 8 release date announced!

The Drupal Association announced today that Drupal 8 will be released 19th November. https://www.drupal.org/node/2605142

This is huge news, and with our Drupal Camp in Belfast happening the day after, we have the opportunity to do something to celebrate. When Drupal 7 was released, we had (small) release parties in Dublin and Galway. With an actual camp, we could have a big release party.

Does anyone have ideas? Are there any plans for the Friday night yet?

A quick question regarding phone validation

Hi all.

A quick question regarding webform phone validation that is hopefully very straight foward if anyone had the same issue.

I am using the phone module:
https://www.drupal.org/project/phone

which doesn't include validation for Ireland.

Does anybody know the best way to add Ireland to the list?

I am currently using the "international phone validation per E. 123" as a plan-b and it doesn't seem to work, it gives a "is not a valid Italian phone number" error.

Many thanks in advance.

Integrating a Web Service into Drupal - I need help!

Hi all

I'm banging my head off the wall trying to get this web service job to work and I'm getting no where. After loads of research, it appears that there are only 2 ways which I can achieve what I need - to read in relevant data from a web service on the fly and display it in Drupal and in Views.

The first is the easy option - a module that appears to do exactly what I need Web Service Data

DrupalCon Dublin 2016 - design and branding

Hi,

I just wanted to update you all on the latest news regarding the design and branding for DrupalCon Dublin 2016.

The first time I saw the holding page design was the day after it went live and immediately emailed the Drupal Association to voice some concerns in relation to it. Since then we've had calls with them to give detailed feedback, and also asked if we could get Conor involved in the design process.

DrupalCon Dublin 2016 - Putting a local team together

Hi,

So as you've all heard by now, DrupalCon is coming to Dublin next year, whohoo! It'll be an exciting, and busy, year for us over the next 12 months but I, for one, am excited about it, and can't wait to make this happen! :)

We had a long discussion about it at the Dublin meetup last week, and while the Drupal Association essentially runs and manages the event, there are things that need to be done by the local community. So one of the first things we need to do is to put a local team together.
