The intention of this group is to possibly foster a friendly user group meeting for Drupal in SE Michigan similar to semislug.
No current plans for such a meeting to take place, but it takes a group to set that up. This is the beginning of that.

Commerce Guys is hosting a Drupal 7 release party at Hugo's in Jackson.
We want to get everyone together to celebrate the last 2 years of development by the Drupal community.
There will be users/developers on hand to answer everyone's questions about what Drupal 7 has to offer. We welcome experienced Drupal 6 users or newcomers to the Drupal community.

New Meetup: Debugging Drupal & Basic Module Development
Hope everyone is surviving the cold-- it should give you more time inside to use Drupal! :-)
This meetup will focus on the technical side of Drupal-- coding, debugging, and basic module development. Anyone that has downloaded or created their own themes, modules, or other code knows Drupal has a lot of PHP code behind it and sometimes it's mysterious what's going on inside all that code. We'll talk about how to get inside Drupal and see what it's actually doing and if there's time we'll dive into creating a basic module of your own.

So what should we do at our next meetup?
I could possibly talk a little bit about Drupal 7 since I have it installed on Ross Hunter's personal blog But I sure could not talk for an hour on it, and I really don't know much about the changes under the hood.
I would like to see something like
