Welcome to the Groups site for the Nebraska Developers and Users Group, where we discuss, share and find ways to provide local face-to-face interaction which can support activities like hosting speakers, providing tutorials, Question and Answer sessions, establishing relationships with others in the geographic area, and generally expand the community of Drupal users.
As of 2024, our meetings are held bi-monthly in Omaha.
Other ways to connect:
• Slack: The #nebraska channel on drupal.slack.com
• Meetup: Omaha Drupal Meetup
• Twitter: DrupalNebraska
Even if you're from the surrounding areas, we won't hold it against you. You're welcome to join us in person at the meetups or chat in the #nebraska channel on drupal.slack.com. (I'm looking at you Denver/Colorado, Iowa, South Dakota, and Kansas City!)
If you want to get on our radar or get more involved, please share your contact information with us, and fill out our member strengths inventory to help us tailor the group to your needs.
Group Module Idea: Unicode Filter
We've been talking about maintaining a contrib module as a group for a little while now. I have an idea for one, which I would like to propose: a Unicode filter module. On every CMS site I've ever built I've had a problem with users copying and pasting in content from Microsoft Word or other web pages that contains curly quotes, em dashes, and other non-ASCII characters that invalidate the HTML output and break RSS feeds.

Drupalcamp Colorado Wrapup - survey for those who didn't attend
We had an amazing time at the camp this year, but there were a lot of folks missing. Whether it was people from previous years who couldn't make it, or new members we want to hear your opinion!
We do a survey for the people who show up, but that just leads us to make the event more and more like they want it. What about the opinion of people who didn't make it? Please, fill in this survey so we know what we can do to make the camp appeal more to you for next year.
Thanks!

WebEnabled has generously proposed a contest for our local group. We will provide at least 10 qualifying feature suggestions, and they'll pick the best one and award the author a one year premium developer plan ($119.40 value). A qualifying suggestion is one that could be added to their roadmap. ("Lame" suggestions don't count.) Submit your suggestions in the comments on this post.

The May Nebraska Meetup was held on Saturday the 22nd. I was late so I don't know how we opened. Introductions are customary so I'll assume we did that.
Dave Reid took some really good notes, so for a meetup summary see here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/68843#comment-216303

Hey all,
I havent really posted much in this group (maybe once ever) but I thought I'd shoot this out. There is a cheap seminar called Get Motivated on June 21st ( http://www.getmotivated.com/ ). It is probably just a big motivational seminar but has a bunch of "famous" people at it. I know its not particularly about drupal or web devel but I'm a business owner in Omaha and will probably go to see if they give any good biz insite.
Anyone else planning on going?

Read moreJune DrupalCamps, choose wisely!
If you didn't already know, there are two close regional DrupalCamps both on June 26-27 (Sat/Sun). DrupalCamps are basically mini-DrupalCons, so you get good, quality sessions (for both beginners and gurus) and a decent attendance of usually 200-500 people (a lot easier to find someone than the 3000 people at DrupalCon San Francisco).
