BDUG is the Berkeley Drupal Users Group. This group is open to everyone in the area who is interested in learning, teaching or networking about Drupal. When meetings take place, they are held on the UC Berkeley campus monthly meetings on the UC Berkeley campus.
There is a list of San Francisco Bay Area-based Drupal consultants.

Possible dates for BADCamp 08 (Oct 11-12?)
The discussion for BADCamp 08 got underway at yesterday's BDUG meeting. I followed up with one of our administrators to get the dates of weekends in late September - early November when space is available, and there is no Cal football happening on campus (so parking is less of an issue than it was last year). It seems like there are two prime dates: Sept 20th & 21st, and October 11th & 12th. Of these two I am leaning towards October, so we are not too close to DrupalCon Szeged (which is the last week of August).

I am available to help out with organizing this year's BAD Camp. Let me know what I can do to help.
Also, how does the sponsorships work? I might be able to get my company to sponsor this event.
Thanks,
Deborah Fuzetto
BDUG's new group page
The Berkeley Drupal Users Group now has it's own g.d.o: http://groups.drupal.org/berkeley-users-group-bdug.
This group replaces the old BDUG site at http://drupal.citris-uc.org. Thanks to the sexy new og_panels features, I don't need to maintain a separate site just to support our user group. And now I can't just cross post to the Bay Area group with the click of a checkbox, rather than copy-and-pasting each month.

Berkeley Drupal Group - Thursday June 26th, Noon - 1:30pm - Networking Site Case Study and Patterns
Greetings Bay Area Drupallers,
Join us this Thursday to hear a talk by Chris Bryan, of Gravitek Lab. Chris is a long time BDUG member and on of the BADCamp organizers. Here is his description of his talk:
"We'll walk through a new networking and collaboration platform (http://dreamfish.com) that Gravitek Labs is about to launch. We'll look at the major components that make up the site such as cck types, views, panels 2, and theming as well as custom work extending panels 2 that was done for the project.

Greetings Bay Area Druplers,
The secret ingredient in this month's Drupal kitchen arena is ... ImageCache (present and future)! This is an extremely useful module for Just-In-Time image manipulation, that is must-have in the pro's tool belt, but not as well known as it deserves to be. I am really excited that Darrel O'Pry (dopry), the creator of ImageCache, will be joining us to talk about ImageCache 2.x and the new ImageAPI. So we will start out with an overview of the present, and then get a view of the future.
See you there,

Berkeley Drupal Group - Thrusday March 27th, Noon - 1:30pm - Report from DrupalCon
Greetings Bay Area Druplers,
DrupalCon Boston has come and gone, and boy was it big. Let's continue the conversation. If you went, please bring the coolest thing you learned to share with everyone else. If you didn't go, bring questions about where Drupal is going.

Not only was the Bay Area Drupal Camp a successful gathering and a lot of fun, but it turns out it was also a successful fund raiser for the Drupal Association. Thanks to our generous sponsors and t-shirt sales, we raised $950 more than we spent putting on the camp. That money is now a holiday gift to the Drupal Association from BADCamp and the Berkeley Drupal Users Group. We hope some of this money will go to help groups with less access to corporate sponsorship put on regional camps of their own.
Once again, special thanks to Dan, Chris, Pete and Jen for all their work making BADCamp happen, and to Sun and OpenCircle Tech for the great after-party. Let's do it again next year!
