Drupal update module will download updates from drupal web site.
It's good idea to make it cronable for automated updates.
The main problem for beginer users is update.
They don't want to update site.
They think it take time.
Update module will change it.

This proposal is from my friend.
I asked him to give what hi want change in drupal.
First was updates.
Drupal have many modules.
My friend don't know exactly what modules hi enabled.
So update is big problem for beginers.
Idea: Drupal site - repo
Idea:
Drupal site - repo with files, script to generate xml data with md5sum and version of files
Drupal module - downloading files, optionaly with ftp support, checking versions and md5sums
showing warnings in administration /admin
