A projector, wireless internet access and computers are available in the lab.

Please post comments recommending discussion topics that interest you and the sites you would like to present or see presented.

So excited about this!

I'm a librarian living in Denver working remotely for NC State University - We're just now migrating to Drupal. Looking forward to this event! I would love to hear some folks speak about multi-site installations. Do we need to register for this?
Thanks,
Susan

Registration

larsdesigns's picture

Hi Susan,

Registration is not required and the event is free. It would be nice to get a feel for how many people are coming.

I look forward to meeting you.

Thanks,
Justin

Signups are closed?

It might be easier to get a feel for how many people are coming if you turn signups on for the event. :)

It sounds interesting.

This rocks

I booked cheap airfare on SW from LA for $140 and Pricelined the Marriott Courtyard for $75. It's almost cheaper than staying home!

See you there.

Drupal 7

maidanet's picture

I'm working on a Drupal 7 public website and Intranet for the Pueblo City-County Library district. I'd love to hear about modules that were helpful/well made for your library.

I'm looking for an events calendar for both sites, a room reservation system for the public site and possibly replacing our a trouble ticket system internally.

Looking forward to it!

We've been developing some

c4rl's picture

We've been developing some solutions for events calendar, events registration, and room reservations on the Anythink libraries site. The features are currently in Drupal 6 but will eventually be migrated to 7. If BoF attendees are interested, we can showcase some of the past challenges and new features moving forward.

Much of the development has required very specific requirements -- for example, event registration needed to work per library card number for anonymous users and was sign-up per date repeat (using the Date Repeat API) not the actual event. There were also requirements about how many sign-ups an individual could make in certain time periods for events of specific taxonomy terms. Because of this, much of the development was custom, and did not leverage existing solutions such as the signup module.

I am hoping to contribute some of the work for the Date Repeat API signups to signup module in the future.

I'm very interested!

I would definitely be interested in hearing about your solutions.

And I may be able to help out with the migration, if needed - I am fairly comfortable with php/mySQL, just haven't done any coding related to Drupal yet.

Presenters

A very tentative list of presenters and their topics are listed below. There is plenty of room for more. Please volunteer to present by making a comment.

  1. WIS Team - Denver Public Library - denverlibrary.org
  2. Peter K. XC Drupal Toolkit (virtual)
  3. Carl W. - Anythink Libraries
  4. Justin C. - DPL - Creating Communities

Even though it's not

c4rl's picture

Even though it's not explicitly Drupal-related, perhaps someone from DPL could discuss the switch from AquaBrowser to Polaris and some of the ILS selection criteria? Just a thought.

I think that we should stick

highermath's picture

I think that we should stick to Drupal. Our time is pretty limited.

You might be able to make this connection out-of-band while we are there.

It's a Good Idea

larsdesigns's picture

From recent conversations, I think the DPL would be happy to discuss recent projects outside of Drupal also. I am sure members from other libraries will be interested. Most of the other library systems relate or integrate with Drupal and I think it would be valuable to see what the DPL has done and/or plans to do.

Bummer

I am unable to stop coughing, so I won't be getting on a plane tomorrow.

Have fun!

Just heard that they are working on the heat in the building tomorrow and it may be off most of the day. Dress warmly!

Next Meet-up?

sledden's picture

It was nice meeting everyone yesterday and talking Drupal/libraries. We were thinking about hosting a meet-up at Anythink Wright Farms in Thornton in a few months. Maybe mid-May? We can chat about where everyone is in their projects and hopefully keep some momentum going for meeting on a more regular basis. LMK if you're interested.

Stacie

I'd like to sit in.

This subject may be over my head, but I'd like to sit in anyway if it happens. :)

Interested in a next meet-up

Stacie
Would love to be able to continue our conversations and learnings about Drupal/libraries. Plus a visit to the new Anythink is always a plus! If it's early May i would be free. Mid to late May is high school graduation season......

cynthia
