After several years of my initial plan of splintering the San Diego Users Group, the time is finally here for those sick of sitting in traffic to go to those killer SDDUG meetings...
Our first North San Diego County Drupal Meeting will take place at Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, Wednesday 1/27/2011 6:30pm to 9pm.
On the agenda:
- Introduction and general discussion re. meeting logistics
- Drupal 7 overview by Kathy Hayashi
- If we have enough beginners present: Drupal Koolaid presentation by Christoph Weber
- Lightning Talks - bring your own Drupal question, musing, cool discovery and SHARE! Enrich the group in just 5 minutes.

I've been drinking & drinking...but I'm still parched. Feed my thirst.
Woo Hoo!
I love a good revolution! Have real den mom duties but may swing by later.

The meeting place has a Joomla! website
Well, at least the site is using a CMS ;)

I see they have that...
But they also seem to have:
http://www.namm.org
https://www.namm.org/user
which is a drupal site... obviously...
shew =)
Re: The meeting place has a Joomla! website
True, the Museum Of Making Music is a Joomla website, but as Matt said, they are NAMM and the http://namm.org site is a Drupal site, as is http://wannaplaymusic.com, a site that I and @kscheirer helped to build for them just a few short years ago.
Which means, I guess, that you're offering to port their http://www.museumofmakingmusic.org site into Drupal!?

Interesting...
I am just finishing up w/a pro bono project for a different .org, so I may have to pass on helping w/a conversion, at least for now. Even though I was just kidding about the site being on Joomla, I bet it would help to get everything on one platform.

Enjoyed the North Counting Meeting!
Enjoyed the North County Meetup! Thanks for organizing this event - it was great to see such a talented group of Drupal'ers in one place. And thanks to NAMM for hosting us and Joel for the pizza! Looking forward to future NC events.
I agree. The streaming was
I agree. The streaming was terrific, plenty good enough to keep up with all that happened during the meeting. Great content, and I'm happy that there were so many in attendance. Nice work, everyone!

A good start
My first attendance of any drupal gathering and I enjoyed it. Even as a newbie I picked up on a long list of items to research. Great presentations and lightning talks. Thank you to the speakers and organizers. I like the idea of future meetings having a beginner's section before moving onto more advanced content.
North County Meeting
That was one of the nicest Drupal meetings I've attended. Lots of good vibes and knowledge in the room. My thanks to our hosts. I'm already looking forward to next month's meeting.
I like the idea of having the beginners session first. Cognoscenti can tolerate boredom much better than newbies can tolerate confusion.
Thank you!
I appreciate so much that you have brought this group to North County. I felt bad seeing the heavy traffic on 5 South after I left the meeting - I hope the San Diego people got home in good time.
Great job north county!
Just wanted to add my voice to the kudos for getting this off the ground. I live about midway between HOC and NAMM, so now I have two great options each month. The meeting was superb. The venue just as good. And streaming video to boot was also wonderful, hope we can keep that going in the future for those who can't attend in person. See you at the next meeting.
