Sessions: What you need to know
There's a great list of sessions lined up for this year's Drupal Design Camp LA and there's plenty of space in the schedule for more. We're likely to see both requests and proposals for sessions coming in up to the last minute, and in true BarCamp style, we'll be finalizing the schedule together the first morning of the conference.
Have you done work on a great-looking Drupal site that you'd like to show off? Submit a session! Is there a topic on design, usability or theming that you'd like to attend? Request what you want to see! Would you like to participate in a panel discussion or join forces and co-present with someone? See what other attendees are talking about!
We ask that our presenters have their slides and/or demo sites ready in advance. Sessions will be screen-recorded and uploaded to the LA Drupal blip.tv account, just like at the LA Drupal meetups. Projectors, WiFi and power outlets will be provided, but presenters are expected to bring their own power cables and display adapters. A separate WiFi network will be provided to presenters, organizers and volunteers.
The DDCLA organizers and attendees are all in this together and you can ask questions privately (just select the "Session ideas and questions" category) or post any questions you have in the discussion forum for other attendees to answer. We look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you to our sponsors!
The support from our sponsors at this year's Drupal Design Camp LA is what has made this event possible. The entire DDCLA organizing team is grateful to the companies and individuals who have reached out to us. Our sponsors this year are:
- Top Notch Themes (Surrealist top-level sponsor)
- Four Kitchens (Art Deco second-level sponsor)
- PINGV Creative (Expressionist third-level sponsor)
- Monstrositee (Expressionist T-shirt sponsor)
- Exaltation of Larks (Social Realist organizing sponsor)
- Spring Arts Tower (Social Realist venue sponsor)
- WizOne Solutions (Minimalist level sponsor)
- Michael Hie (Minimalist level sponsor)
These levels of sponsorship translate directly to the traditional Platinum, Gold, Silver and Community levels you may have seen at other camps and conferences. Our sponsorship information page lists all the sponsor levels and their related benefits. We also have Pop ($250), Arts & Crafts ($100) and Minimalist ($50) level sponsorship spots available and our operators are standing by!
Send us a quick message or call the LA Drupal hotline at 855-LADRUPAL (855-523-7872) if you'd like to get involved, whether it be by making a financial sponsorship, donating a raffle prize (Drupal books, software licenses, etc.) or rolling up your sleeves and volunteering at the event.
Drupal in a Day training on Friday, February 4th
Coming to Los Angeles for Drupal Design Camp LA? Come a day early to the Spring Arts Tower (the same venue as DDCLA) for a full day of Drupal training from Exaltation of Larks and Chapter Three! This introductory workshop will touch upon almost every aspect of the core Drupal framework. At this training you will:
- Discover how to add, edit, and moderate content.
- Learn how to create user accounts and understand Drupal's permissions system.
- See how to set-up menus, and position blocks on a page.
- Create human-readable URLs, and categorize your content using Drupal's taxonomy system.
At the end of this one-day class you'll have a completed Drupal site, which looks and functions a lot like many sites you'll see on the web today.
10% of the profits from this training will be offered as a donation to the LA Drupal Association, so registering for this training benefits you and the whole LA Drupal community!

After the sessions are over on Saturday, you can come out for cocktails with your new friends at The Association.
What: Afterparty at The Association
When: 7pm to where's-my-car-o-clock
Where: 110 E 6th St, Los Angeles, CA 90013

We will be joined by folks from Digital LA! It’ll be a great time!

Lee, you rock!
That looks like a mighty nice spot! But being such a nice place, is there a dress code or can we stroll in w/our jeans & tennis shoes?
Did you mean 3 drinks at $7/each? Cuz 3 drinks for $7 seems mighty generous. But still $7 is a really good deal at an upscale Downtown LA nightclub.
Are we going to have to start calling this Drupal After Drunk? (oh, wait, i'd better go trademark that) =P
