October Twin Cities Ubercart Meeting
Hi Everyone-- it's Twin Cities Ubercart User Group meeting time!
Agenda for October 20, 2010s meeting:
- Introductions
- Since I cannot find the page in my notebook that I wrote down the next topic - I'm picking one out of the hat. THEMING
A question came up the other day in a training class I attended - how do you get or can you have the order of your items in
the checkout cart list in a specific order or priority? That made me think about views for ubercart and even more - detailed
theming and structure.
October TC Drupal Users Group meeting
Join us Wednesday October 27th at 7PM for this month's TC Drupal Users Group meeting. Our good friend Chad Fennell (unexpand), web developer at the University of Minnesota Digital Library Development Lab, will show us Selenium. Selenium is a web application testing suite. On the Drupal side of things, the selenium module boasts the ability to integrate with Selenium making "it possible to test every aspect of a Drupal website." Chad will shed light on all of this by sharing his experience with both Selenium and Drupal.
As always there will also be time for socializing, networking, pizza eating and favorite beverage quaffing (feel free to bring some to share).
Location:
Advantage Labs Offices in the IATP Building
2104 Stevens Avenue South
Minneapolis, MN 55404
7-9PM
Parking available on the street. Come around back to the ramp door to be let in or buzz us from the Stevens Ave entrance.

It's that time again! We are all planning on it, but of course we don't announce Happy Hour until the day before. I set the meeting time to 5:30, so we could get that last bit of fall light on the deck. Sound like the weather will cooperate with that too.
Come out and talk Drupal or not. At least a few people will be discussing Drupal Camp too.

Come for a recap of significant Drupal happenings from Drupalcon and stay for a taste of Awesomesauce -- the Drupal beer brewed by Danish brewer Mikkeller for Drupalcon CPH and exclusively imported to Minneapolis for this meeting by your friends at Advantage Labs. To add to the fun, we'll have multiple decks of "Drupal the Card Game" out and available for some ad-hoc tournament play.

Hello all-
Anyone have experience with the Signup Integration module and Ubercart in Drupal 6? I can't seem to get it to work. I would love to have someone take a peek or point me in the direction of additional training/resources.
Overall, I am interested in a paid event registration solution so if someone else has a better idea, I am interested.
Thanks!
Tara

Drupalcamp 2011 on Google Docs
I've created a folder on Google Docs to house planning documents. See
https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0ByUK1MfqtW9uYzQzMTk4OWQtYzE0Mi00ZmI3LTl...
Currently the folder and the README document are viewable by the world, and soon I plan to add financial-planning spreadsheets.
Please respond to me directly with your email address if you would like to be a Docs collaborator. (I can't see your email addresses in Drupal groups.) Then you can create documents too.
Read moreMinnesota DrupalCamp: Hold it in the Summer Instead of the Dead of Winter?
So, we've narrowed in on a couple of possible dates for the Minnesota Drupalcamp, one date in January, one in March. I know this time was basically deemed most convenient by the majority of us, but I wonder if we might not consider pushing the event out to a spring or summer date.
I think there are a few reasons why our current timing is problematic:
- Regional camps tend to provide an alternative for those who can't attend Drupalcon, typically for reasons of cost. Given that the North American Drupalcon will take place in Chicago right about the time of our camp, that rationale is somewhat diminished. Summer is the time for the European Drupalcons, and not many of us seem to be attending those. So it seems more logical to me to hold ours around that time (not at the same time, obviously).
- It might simply be nicer for participants and speakers to space our event out from Drupalcon for a variety of reasons.
- [EDIT] Employers might not fund two related conferences this close together, for example, if we decided to charge a fee.
- Joking a little bit here, but it IS freaking cold here during the winter, and asking people to go outside for food and/or beer at that time of year is just cruel.
- Pushing the date out would give us a lot more time to pull together a successful camp. Suddenly, we'll be way ahead of the game.
- Summer tends to be a slow time around the U (not for me though!), so scheduling locations might be a bit easier.
- We could still put together our code sprint bus for Drupalcon Chicago even without the camp!
Thoughts?

So, it's looking like we have a number of people willing to put in some time on the DrupalCamp MN (a.k.a. "Ice Camp" a.k.a. "Camp Code Freeze") conference planning committee. I think we need to formalize that list and begin a regular weekly meeting in order to tackle the substantial amount of work involved in making the camp happen.

I know at least a couple of shops in TC have worked with libraries in the past, so I'm posting this RFC (posted to DRUPAL4LIB) here:

This RFP can be found at http://www.knoxcounty.org/purchasing/solicitations.php under "Website Development", Bid Number: 249. Responses must be received by 2:00 PM August 31, 2010. Bidders must also complete a Vendor's List Application to register with Knox County prior to submitting their response. This application is available for download from the same web page as the RFP.
All questions concerning the RFP or the process must be directed to the representitive of the Knox County Purchasing Deparment as specified in the RFP, not to the Library."
TC Drupal Happy Hour!

August already? This summer is flying by! Tomorrow, August 5th is the first Thursday and thus another Drupal Happy Hour! I was going to suggest doing it at the Bedlam this month as it would unfortunately be possibly our last chance with the theater closing in September. Unfortunately (or fortunately for them!) tomorrow is chock full of opening night festivities for Fringe Festival, so trying to convene a group in their space would be a bit difficult!
