Drupal 7 Site Building class
Advantage Labs is excited to announce a new training class, Drupal 7 Site Building, scheduled for June 29-30, 2011 at our office in Minneapolis, MN. In two days, participants will be brought up to speed on configuring Drupal websites utilizing Drupal 7. We will combine presentation, demonstration and hands-on exercises. This course is suitable for both users who are relatively new to Drupal and those who want to broaden their Drupal skills.

To make the deal even sweeter we're offering a special discount to all DrupalCamp Twin Cities and Drupal in a Day attendees.

DrupalCamp Twin Cities Attendee Survey?
It could be valuable to get the perspective of DrupalCamp attendees by sending out a post-conference survey. I'd recommend trying to get this done within a week for effective results.
Here are some possible questions, culled from my employer's last post-conference survey. In most cases there are both radio buttons from Excellent to Poor and a text box to leave a comment:
- How would you rate your overall DrupalCamp Twin Cities experience?
DrupalCamp Twin Cities Brain Dump
This is a space for DrupalCamp Twin Cities organizers and volunteers to record your "behind the scenes" impressions of how things ran. Starting off with two headings - what worked, and what didn't work. Please add your observations under these headings, and feel free to create more categories as you see fit.
What worked
- Facilities - classrooms were large enough to accommodate people, the layout of the space was good, built-in A/V equipment worked very well. Didn't hear about a single session being disrupted due to a technical failure.
FRI-SUN Meetup
Hi Ladies & Gents,
Great to meet some of you @ TCDC this weekend. After talking w/ some of you I was thinking about trying to start a meetup that I could actually attend (since I travel Sun evening-Thursday evening). I'd be happy to help organize/sponsor the event w/ home made BBQ (i.e. smoked ribs, brisket, chicken, etc.) and bring some choice beer. However, I don't have a suitable venue - anyone have ideas for that?

The inaugural Twin Cities DrupalCamp was a great success! We sold out at 250 attendees, we had over 40 great sessions for every skill level and topic, and we drew speakers attendees from all over the country. Hopefully you were able to attend, and hopefully this inspired you to get more involved in the community. Perhaps Angie and Jen's keynotes inspired you to get involved, or perhaps this in-person contact has helped you realize how much easier it is to learn and build when you've got a little help from your friends.
But where do you begin?

Hi All,
I'm working on setting up my first Drupal website. Using Drupal 7 was sort of selected for me, so I'm sticking with that version (as I've already put a lot of time into figuring out how the basics work).

Wylbur and I talked last week about planning a very basic "Intro to Drupal" track of sessions for DrupalCamp Twin Cities. The idea is to reach those people who may only have an inkling of what Drupal is or are just getting started using it (or, a very important segment, those who have inherited a Drupal site from somebody else and need guidance.) Below is essentially a brain dump I did last night of potential topics and material for such a track.

Carpooling to Cities DrupalCamp?
I'd like to go to DrupalCamp if I can but I'm having trouble with the logistics. One big hurdle is that I am not good at driving in big cities. Is there anyone that's anywhere near Holmen, WI (La Crosse) that would let me hitch a ride for gas money? If you're closer to La Crosse than the Cities but don't want that extra drive down, I'd be willing to drive up to meet you at your starting point as long as there's a place I could park for the duration.
My other hurdle is child care so this may be moot but I'm trying to work on both issues in tandem. :)
Thanks,
Michelle
