Services from site to site

Most of the discussion here is about Flex, AIR etc', but I wasn't able to fully crack how to use services on a simple site to site.

Here's the task - how to node.save as a logged in user from one Drupal site to another?

I've done quite a bit of successful work with Services and Flash without Flex. This isn't due to any resentment or something, but just circumstance. Anyway I'm looking to move into some node.save functionality for my swf's and very excited to see what I can achieve. So I will post whatever I have to offer here. Anything else you come up with will also be really appreciated. Cheers.
