I noticed that some organizing had started for Drupaldelphia 2011 on the current Drupaldelphia, and I wanted to raise the question of whether we should move the site to the Conference Organizing Distribution. Take a look at the sites that are already using COD, as well as the incredible array of Conference/Camp Management features, and tell me that we wouldn't be much better off "joining the crowd".
Anyone object to making the move to COD? Anyone interested in helping build the new site?
We (Zivtech) would be happy to host a hackathon in the near future, if anyone else was down to give a hand. What do you say?

2 thumbs up!
Some of these new distributions are just awesome. I am all for using this distribution, as GVS knows what they are doing. I will help out with the new build when I can. I am going to spin up COD and start messing around with it on my local.
Peace,
Jason

Awesome news!
As always if you run into trouble or need help ask here or in #drupal-cod and we'll be happy to help.
What are the dates for the camp? I'm just hoping it won't be too close to Denver OR DC such that I can attend :)

No dates yet...
but we're aiming for late June or early July, in order to squeeze between those two camps, both of which a bunch of us will be taking part in. We're also taking part in DrupalCamp NYC + BarCamp News Innovation, both of which are on April 30th, DrupalCamp Twin Cities on May 20-21, as well as GlueCon, in Denver on May 25-26 (I'll be out west for the entire time between GlueCon and DC Denver).
Yay for Camp season!

Love the idea
I think this is great. I was actually going to suggest this, but I didn't want to imply that the awesome site ZivTech put so much time into building was in any way deficient :) But yes, I think COD would be an excellent thing to use.
I'd be willing an interested in working on it.
If we decide to have BoFs or unconference-style sessions, one thing I'd really like to see is the ability to add those sessions to one's schedule. My experience at Chicago was having the "my schedule" feature be almost useless, because I was attending at least as many BoFs as regular sessions, but couldn't add them to the schedule.
So, a minor quibble with COD, but otherwise it rocks!
totally agreed
Adding bof sessions to your schedule makes complete sense. I think it was just overlooked on the Chicago site as it was't part of the requirements :/
However, enabling that shouldn't be too hard.
The current BOF code is not yet in COD but is in the issue queue http://drupal.org/node/1034482

Thanks
I added a note about this to that issue. Trying to be constructive :)

I think moving to COD is a great idea, and would be willing to participate in a hackathon, virtually if not physically.

I kind of like that I can
I kind of like that I can always get to this site via my dashboard on drupal.org. I guess that would be my only concern in moving to another platform.
Edit: Never mind. I just realized my comment is totally of the mark. I thought we were considering moving this group to another site. :)
