integrating j2ee web application into drupal

Hello every one ,

I'm working on a intranet project and evaluating the possibility to use drupal as a cms where using services module (if possible) integrate other web applications , i.e authenticate in drupal on some kind of Single sign on or ldap database, and be able to access an external web application from drupal

Soap Server

This tutorial sets up authenticated soap services with soap server. It may give you a hint on authenticating users: http://drupal.org/node/1101362. There is a link at the bottom of it where you can find the code plus a plain PHP example of how you would authenticate users.
