The Drupal Association logo is ugly. Vote for an unofficial replacement.

After going to DC Chicago I was inspired to join the Drupal Association, but could not be moved to include its ugly seal on my site.

Come on designers. You know what I mean. We can do better than this.

That said, I have contributed this unofficial logo exploration:

I'm currently championing an initiative to redesign the branding of the Association as well as it's outdated badges. Follow the discussion here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/145354

Hi Aaron, Thanks for your

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for your response! I don't want to spam your thread since it seems to be primarily focused on wordmark relationship and not the badges, but I'd love to be involved when the topic comes up. I like what you're doing with the official typography and I toyed with integrating some of it into my exploration last night.

I hope you don't mind my 'ask forgiveness, not permission' approach. I wasn't aware there was movement elsewhere. Needless to say I'm not totally clear on the politics of the rebranding. IE did the wordmark kill the icon, or is that reserved for only specific usage? Being phased out? Let me know when and if there is an opportunity to chip in.

PS. Enjoyed your presentation on font kits in Boston last year. :)

I've recooked my presentation per some of the feedback I received and to incorporate the official wordmark and Helvetica Neue:
