Stable Release Candidates of Location and GMap

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Bdragon has committed release candidates of both Location and GMap. These are both huge improvements over the previous releases. Since geotagging is part of the improved metadata structure we are developing, it would be helpful if everyone involved could invest some time testing and posting bugs to the issue queues for these releases.

I love Location and Gmap so much, I am so proud of how well they are growing up.

Kevin thinks you have the best Drupal site in Public Access.
Come show it off.
also, please revise the "comprehensive list of PEG2.0 initiatives"

Whatever your first issue of concern, media had better be your second, because without change in the media, the chances of progress in your primary area are far less likely. http://denveropenmedia.org

media sites using Loc and Gmap

Hi all,

I work with Brandon (aka Bdragon) at CTC - I don't believe he's a member of this group, though. I've seen Sean's site, but are there any other good examples of PEG or other community media groups using Location, Gmap, or other GIS functionality that we should look at?

If there are, I haven't seen

If there are, I haven't seen it. The Wiki of Public Access sites using Drupal has all the sites I know of, but CCTV Cambridge is a great example of hyperlocal community building beyond the PEG space. While Denver Open Media has been focused on writing custom Drupal modules to manage our video workflow and playback, we haven't spent much time on the online community building tools. We're definitely looking to CCTV Cambridge for inspiration as we redesign our site.

Kevin, your picture is scary

you left a D out of "Candidates" and your picture just scared my niece to the point of tears.

She asks that you change it.

Fixed the candidates typo. Sorry I don't have a cool, 'I just stepped out of the Matrix' profile pic to replace my scary profile pic :) Besides, it's October. Isn't everything supposed to be scary?
