Where is Open Media headed?
There is a LOT of work being done with Open Media modules right now that is not being reflected on this list. On Drupal 7. A lot of things are in development, and I will only speak from my own experiences - but I'll post and hope others will add. Please correct any errors.
There really seem to be two aspects of the Open Media System that are being implemented concurrently.
1) Facility and Project Management through modules like MERCI and OM_Show.

About three months ago I posted about Denver Open Media's initial results integrating with Archive.org via the Internet Archive module -- at that point we had transferred 348 shows to archive.org. As of today, we have now transferred 2746 shows, almost 2TB of data.

Since installing the Internet Archive module about a month ago, Denver Open Media has transferred 348 shows to archive.org(screenshot). The process has been quite stable with only a few files failing transfer (and the module now supports automatically re-attempting failed transfers). In fact, it's a lot more stable than our current ingest workflow which involves using Media Mover to encode the broadcast file, flash file and create thumbnails.

As part of the last phase of the Knight News Challenge grant I've been working to create a module to automate transfers to Archive.org of files available to Drupal. The development release is now ready, and we're continuing to test it here at Denver Open Media. My thanks go out to John Hauser at Access Humboldt, and the team at Archive.org who helped me navigate the S3-like interface and provided invaluable feedback in regards to handling metadata.
