MERCI questions

First is it best to set my roles before entering information into MERCI? Let's say am going to assign roles based off membership levels, would it be best to do so first and then enter in the different MERCI content types?

Also, am going to have 3 edit stations would this lend itself better as a Bucket item.

Thank you

Sven

Newbie question

I ran the Cron and it gave me this:

• warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in C:\wamp\www\hosted\seattlecommunitymedia\modules\merci\merci.module on line 1063.
• warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in C:\wamp\www\hosted\seattlecommunitymedia\modules\filefield_paths\filefield_paths.module on line 389.
• warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in C:\wamp\www\hosted\seattlecommunitymedia\modules\filefield_paths\modules\filefield.inc on line 50.
•

Any ideas why?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Broadcast Server Recommendations and Experiences

Looking for input on anyone with these broadcast server experience - particularly in terms of their "open Source" cooperative philosophy and system compatibility. I have worked with Telvue, and they have been very cool and I like their base system.
Don't want to "color" this too much with my particular bias, and the devil is in the details - but I am now looking at (for a new station)

Telvue Princeton series B100, 3000 & Pro (might want HD / SD)

TightRope SX 2 (or LE) - (really like multi-format playback)

Small Steps for Small Station with OMP Install

As part of the effort to refine the useful documentation for non-developers I am trying to expand kreynen's 12 step program for an OMP install. I was tempted to post this as a wiki - but it is very rough, incomplete working path at a public access TV station that just has two staff. For those who have gone through the process or my be farther along - please feel free to comment and provide any feedback. What's missing - really help us break it down. We're moving slow and steady here. - Jason

Open Media Project documentation & Screencasts

Spurred by discussions at Drupal Camp Western Mass, where more stations wish to join the OMP, and following on from this post: Capturing Help Requests & Questions For Better Documentation it's time to do some more documentation updating.

If you know how to do any of these things, please either make a screencast and add it to openmedia.blip.tv (I can gave you the login info) or add it to the newly organized documentation on Drupal.org, like this Open Media Airing.

Development release of Internet Archive module up

As part of the last phase of the Knight News Challenge grant I've been working to create a module to automate transfers to Archive.org of files available to Drupal. The development release is now ready, and we're continuing to test it here at Denver Open Media. My thanks go out to John Hauser at Access Humboldt, and the team at Archive.org who helped me navigate the S3-like interface and provided invaluable feedback in regards to handling metadata.

Beta Test Evaluation

I'm completing an evaluation of the two-year OMP Beta-Test for Knight.
I'd love any help reaching Lane or Kate, as I want to get some opinions from them and PetePO about the disturbing fact that half of the point-people designated to manage the OMP for the beta-test partners were let go (or quit) within a few months of the initial implementation.

I'd also very much like to hear from all the partners about any unanticipated challenges or benefits.

You can post them to comments below, or email me at Tony at Open Media Foundation Org.
