Update Southern California Group Manager

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Hi Folks, similar to Chris Charlton's post, If you're not a group or site admin for groups.drupal.org then feel free to ignore this post.

I'd like help from the GDO gods to help me shift my account into the role of the http://groups.drupal.org/southern-california manager. I have been unable to contact greg_y - and not really sure who he is and don't think he's active any longer. I'd like to at least become an admin - preferably the Group Manager for the Southern California Group.

My goal is to make the group look a bit more alive and be able to better coordinate / aggregate local groups in Southern California. I think the Group was created before any other local groups really took off - and I'd like to set it up as a better hub than it currently is - to point people to appropriate local groups for meetups, etc.

Please help or offer ideas.

Cheers!

Hey I just moved this from "groups" to "maintenance." I could use help (or at least feedback) from a gdo admin on this post

Hi Mike - I contacted greg_y about this. In the short term, I've also granted you manager rights in that group. Please use them cautiously for the next few days - if there's no response from greg_y then feel free to run wild ;)

Thanks for your help coordinating the Southern California group.

Greg-

thanks for you help! before i go wild, I tried to contact greg_y again so i could share what i was planning to do. it reminded me of my problem when i tried to contact him. It wasn't that I never heard back, the problem was that I couldn't find a way to contact him. greg_y as the socal group manager doesn't have his contact form turned on in his profile. I also tried lifetwo, the website on his drupal.org profile, and it doesn't make it obvious how to contact him either.

could you email greg_y and ask him to turn on his contact form? I'd like to be in contact with him, especially since I wasn't setup as group manager. (maybe that is just an oversite or gdo caching issue)

Sorry about that. I poked around to see if I could transfer the manager role, but it's not obvious. Do you know how to do that?

I'm happy to transfer this ... I keep meaning to participate in the group, but a young family always seems to get in the way ...

thanks, greg_y

Thanks for your post, Greg. I think the group "Manager" has the same rights as the Admin so it's not going to be much of a change, but I've now updated Mike to be the Manager.
