http://drupal.org/project/elms -- Try it out now! The abstraction of ELMS is nearly complete. If you care about ELMS implications for application development, check out drupal.psu.edu and read through my posts about abstraction (or http://btopro.wordpress.com/2012/02/09/what-im-really-excited-about/ or http://elearning.psu.edu/elearning/elms-drupal-drupal-elms )

Just some highlights:
--improved installer
--major focus on ensuring accessibility is met
--style guide that accompanies 15 newly released themes
--22 features, many of which are kit compliant
--2 install modes, focus is on content centric one but collaborative environment work has begun
--all code on Drupal.org (minus libraries / contrib)
--all code in the distro is GPL / LGPL
--UX / bug fixes
--over 1.5 hours of video tutorials / documentation provided contextually thanks to Advanced Help
--ability to highlight content and associate maps, timelines, glossary terms, links and other things to it (v. easy API to tap into)
--more things then I would possibly be able to mention here without droning on forever

Is it possible to have the ELMS in D7? I am freely available to help in drafting and editing the documentation.

We'll get to D7 once the landscape stabilizes there a bit. As all of the code is now out in the open on drupal.org I'm more then open to people jumping in and helping get the ports started to D7. As there is only 1 developer on this project (me) I need the most stable platform to build on top of and that's Drupal 6 (still) at this time.

There is a lot of documentation that ships with the current version though I'm always willing to accept and work in improved docs. The instructional design team that I support is being tasked with cleaning up the documentation that's in place now and pointing out where things need clarifying and the more eyes on the documentation the better. Please submit to the issue queue where points of clarification are needed -- http://drupal.org/project/issues/elms
