The Media initiative will be holding an in-person and virtual sprint the Friday after DrupalCon Denver.
We will probably be split up into several different concurrent tasks:
- 1.0 blocker issues
- 2.x issues and test cases
- Drupal core issues
- Documentation

Sorry to hear your missing the sprint, http://denver2012.drupal.org/content/unofficial-media-initiative-update-... is scheduled on the Wednesday and is in my book equally important. Would be great if you can participate there and share your knowledge with us.
Also, I'm sure we will find good topics to discuss over that beer, or two, three, I will buy you as a small thanks for your incredible generous contribution.

I'm willing to help during the code sprint but will probably not have much time to prepare anything or catch up with the latest updates of Media before the DrupalCon (I plan to attend the sessions). I hope I can still be useful.
