Basic curriculum series?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

A couple of years ago, I created a curriculum for an Intro to Site Building in Drupal workshop, which has been used for several workshops, and updated several times (curriculum is at http://poplarclass.com). I was thinking of making it into a series of screencast videos, but my attempts at recording on all my office computers today were utter failures (terrible audio quality). On the other hand, I thought the last time I did a Dojo presentation, the result was pretty reasonable (and it was the same hardware on my end).

So I was wondering if we could/should record a series following that curriculum for the Dojo? I was thinking that there could be accompanying pages giving the step-by-step instructions for people to follow along, and then they could watch the video to get a demo.

Thoughts?

Next step?

OK! What would be the next step?

Actually, if you have any hints for how I could get decent sound recording on my computer, I could just make the screencasts I think... I still don't really understand why, assuming the same computer/mic on my end, the recording would be better via GoToMeeting or whatever it is you are using.

Check the audio input level of the app

jhodgdon: One option could be that the recording app uses different audio recording levels than the computer system. But it's hard to say. I would be happy to talk about your setup. Maybe by going through your training exercises I might finally learn something!

Thanks but..

Really, I tried all kinds of audio settings, and various recording tools. Nothing seemed to help.
