Hi folks,
There is an active issue I started at the d.o. queue about changing default.profile content-type called "Page" to "Info" or maybe "General Content" because of a conceptual name-space clash with "web page". We work so hard with clients to help them understand the differences between dynamic systems and hard-coded html sites. Part of the process is to get them to learn that "content (nodes)" is a distinct idea from a "web page." But then we muck the whole thing up by arbitrarily naming one of the built-in content-types, "Page." And we have evidence from usability studies that users do indeed find that confusing.
Crell has added a whole new interesting twist to the discussion by pointing out how this is a big usability problem for new programmers or programmers that are new to Drupal. This conceptual name-space class is exacerbated by: page.tpl.php, $page, "page callback", and "page request" all that have nothing to do with the content type called "Page."
Issue is at: http://drupal.org/node/542972
Don't miss out on Crell's point at #11: http://drupal.org/node/542972#comment-1900856
