I'm a big fan of Drupal and just moved my pr agency's site over from an ungainly html/wordpress/phpBB combination to Drupal.
I have a long way to go before I can make a meaningful contribution to the community in terms of coding. However, my firm does very well in the PR arena and we're very active in the online world.
Please let me know if there's some way I can help out.

With your PR skills,
With your PR skills, whatever initiative you take I'm sure will benefit the community. You may find yourself bogged down if you choose to open up a committee type discussion about how Drupal should be marketed. For better or worse (mostly for the better) Drupal reflects the people who contribute to it, so go ahead.
(Disclaimer: unless your plan is "let's make drupal.org sexy and appeal to the generation X" - there are limits :)
