Hi Folks,

New to Drupal and I'm having a problem with clean URL's in a multisite setup.
Details:
-Server 2012 R2, IIS 8.5
-Drupal 7.38
-MySQL

I can create a blank dummy site and no issue enabling clean URL's.
However on the multisite setup I have no luck.

The physical file path is as such:
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\"drupal"\sites with all the individual websites in the "sites" folder.

In IIS all the subsites have individual sites that physically point to the parent (C:\inetpub\wwwroot\"drupal")

For example www.parent.com exists and if anyone wants to hit a subsite they would go to www.subsite.com not (www.parent.com/subsite) and this works swimmingly well other than clean URL's won't work.

The server environment is setup correctly for clean URL's as I can prove this with a test site.
When I run the clean url test it fails with no other details.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been stuck on this one a while.
Thanks a bunch!

Have you by any chance tried

Have you by any chance tried your multisite configuration on Windows 2008 / IIS 7? I'm curious if this could be the cause.

We have a multisite config on 2008R2/IIS7 and we've had no problems whatsoever (at least for clean URLs) but we will be migrating the servers soon so I'll be able to do some testing myself but not for a few weeks from now.

Have not tried it

Hello,

This was a new project for me. We have a department in our Faculty that had outsourced 8 Drupal sites in a multisite setup on an external hosting company.

They weren't happy with the "up time" so they dropped it on me a few weeks ago.
I figured I'd go with Win2012r2 VM.

Oddly enough, 5 minutes after posting I deleted the webconfig in parent site and copied the one from my dummy site and voila it started working.

Thanks for the offer to provide feedback on your testing.
Cheers
