Open Media not working well

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I was looking for a theme to use on a web and I found TVframe theme, but it did not look right. I found out that I had to use it with Open Media, I had a hard time installing, I got warnings and time outs all over the place, and when I finally got to fix all those issues, I get an empty page, I have been trying out some things but I do note get how to configure blocks and menus so it looks as the demo page. What do I have to do?

The project is still very

The project is still very much beta and the current developers are focused on getting the current sites going which are part of the Knight funded grant the project was born of. Installing the current code helps but then it's required to know quite a bit about how the current elements work and quite a bit how Drupal works. This will most likely be the case over the next year.

If you want help figuring things out then read over the posts here and the issue queues for the various modules. All of the current developers are pretty maxed out with their time and most likely won't be able to help with your specific implementation. But if you are serious on wanting to get things working then just keep track of the progress of the project and comment and help where possible.

Everything darrick said is

Everything darrick said is correct. The current Install Profile was our first attempt at bundling what we did at the beta sites into a profile. What we learned is we had built too much into TVframe. There are now 2.x branches of most om_ modules that function independent of TVframe. Those are being deployed at BAVC. Once that project is finished, we'll likely roll a new release of the install profile with a much simpler version of TVframe. I explained some of the changes in the 2.x branches here.

I've also created a View of the handbook pages that have been updated with new v2 content. Expect that to grow quickly over the next 3 weeks.
