The book, Learning jQuery, by Jonathan Chaffer and Karl Swedberg (PACKT publishing, ISBN 978-1-847192-50-9) became available recently. Chaffer is the CTO and Swedberg is a developer at Structure Interactive in Grand Rapids. The two have also authored a jQuery Reference Guide also published by PACKT.

At the last AADUG meeting mhofmockel mentioned the very active Grand Rapids Dupal Users Group (GRupal). I don't know personally, but it looks like GRupal meets at the coffee shop below Structure Interactive's offices and that Chaffer (JonBob) is a key driver of that group. You may know of Chafer from his numerous important Drupal contributions including the CCK. The relevance of jQuery to Drupal is of course that jQuery is in Drupal 5; See Chapter 17 in VanDyk and Westgate's Pro Drupal Development. There are a lot of jQuery resources online and you may not need or want to shell out for a book. But in any event, if you are getting into jQuery, you might want to check out Chaffer and Swedberg's Learning jQuery.

I have read this book and can recommend it.

I actually met the 2 that wrote the book this summer at Barcamp in grand rapids. They are very knowledgeable, and it's a very well written book with many code examples.
