Has anybody in here heard of the raw foods diet? Eating nothing but raw, uncooked fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts?
I saw another post advocating fruit for breakfast and dinner...
If you go to fitday.com, you can add the foods you eat and check your calories and nutrient intakes...
For breakfast, eat all the raw, uncooked fruits you can... if you are eating an acidic fruit (oranges, etc.) then eat that first...
You can also make green smoothies for breakfast... take 4 bananas and a little bit of water, blend them, then add in some greens.. celery or romaine lettuce work good.
For lunch you can do the same...
If you eat any fatty foods (olives, avocado, seeds, nuts) then eat them at dinner.. (don't consume acidic fruits at night they are stimulating.) but start out dinner with fruits... also try to eat some raw vegetables or a salad before dinner, after the fruit...
I can post more about the raw foods diet if anyone is interested..

I did this for a few months
I did this for a few months and during that time I had enormous amounts of energy. One of the thing I'd like to see at upcoming Drupal meetups and conferences is the option to have raw or minimally-processed foods that accompany the usual fare. The pizza at the core summit at DrupalCon San Francisco was really good, but it would have put anyone on a raw food diet right into leukocytosis.
Simple fruits, nuts and salads are awesome, but I think people who are exposed to gourmet raw foods for the first time (especially high-end deserts with raw ingredients) would be pleasantly surprised.
Can this include raw meat?
Can this include raw meat? Like sushi and whatever that paper thin raw beef is called?
Raw meat...
There IS a version of the raw foods diet that includes raw meat, but I'm talking about raw, uncooked, (preferably organic) vegan food... fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts...

carpaccio
There are some people who do but as long as we're naming things, I think it's more like one of the approaches to the paleolithic diet.
