Telvue Servers - Cannot remount

I cannot transfer shows from the website to the playback servers. The SOAP insert shows up in content but the media file is held up even though the status shows up as "on server". I check the server status and go this error: Unable to connect: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at admin.

I tried transferring the show to another server and got the same results. SOAP insert but no media file.

I then checked openmedia/om-timeslot-princeton, as far as I can tell everything looks fine.

Thanks!

SOAP v REST and TelVue CMS 3.7

PetePO's picture

Ann,

From what I understand, and I mostly just play a developer on TV, is that since the functionality is based on SOAP and not a more RESTful approach it's a two-step process to introduce shows from the website to the playback servers.

Since you're injecting the PSG with shows it doesn't necessarily check to make sure the files are available. SOAP is more of a one-way communication structure than REST. And it'd make sense to inject the show data before the files.

So, from what I understand, and I could be wrong, the workflow would looks something like this:

OM-Princeton_SubModule calls to the Playback server and injects show information ->Move files over to Playback server

I got all sorts of warm and fuzzies when the TBD program API was released in Princeton 3.7 but I'm a little concerned that this may be messing with the OMP_Princeton_SubModule. Do you know if Kevin wrapped up the updates to OMP_Princeton_SubModule to include the cool stuff he was talking about leveraging in the updated Princeton software?

It could be an issue with the metadata. I could see the expanded functionality causing something of a loop between the SOAP injection and the [missing file,] or TBD program feature....

Hope this helps.

We've been trying to fix this, but running into issues with the dashes in the xml. Posted an issue to Telvue's forum...
