Odd. As of 7/25 I began receiving notifications of new messages in Jobs, Discussions, etc., which I 'd not been receiving in some time, even though I've been a member here for a while and messages appear to have been freely flowing during that time.
Number one, was there a change here that caused this and, number two, is there a setting to only receive messages from specific topics? Ah, I see Notifications (?) module is being used. Maybe something happened there that all of a sudden enabled my notifications?
Well, adding a thread subscription is sure convoluted -- there's no "subscribe to this thread" on each node. And there seems to be a bug in the "Group Notifications" block -- it's linking to someone else's notifications' settings.

Check your group signups
That sounds like odd behavior indeed but I haven't seen any drastic changes recently. Check your group signups & notifications as that's where that would be. Lastly, did your user name get changed when they made that huge change on gdo a while back?

Yup, I can turn off the content type subscriptions at http://groups.drupal.org/user/13512/notifications and manage other subscription/notification types there, too. I can't create "thread" subscriptions, though, when I'm viewing a specific thread.
(The Group Notifications block in the right column has "notifications" linked to http://groups.drupal.org/user/32355/notifications -- again, not the correct user, and that user changes frequently.)
Another thing I just noticed is that most of my subscriptions under "subscriptions" don't have a type listed.
Yes, on gdo my account was mrtoner@drupal.org; my accounts did take some time to get linked together. Reminds me: I should re-establish my Drupal Association membership now that the account fiasco is over (?); I wasn't able to do so previously.
Unsubscribing To Group Comments
I am having gamut of messages from groups in my inbox daily. What can I do to disable this so I can always go to group pages and check updates and read only the ones that I need?
Can anyone be of help please?
For less than $5/month and a Free Domain name, one can be online in less than 24hours!
Navigate to your account by
Navigate to your account by clicking on the "My account" link that's at the top of the page. Then click the "Notifications" tab and you'll see subpages for adding new subscriptions, managing existing subscriptions (by author, group and thread) and changing the notification interval (immediate, daily digest, etc.).
Unsubscribing To Group Comments
I agree, my mailbox keeps getting load with email traffic, and no way to restrict the messages in the option setting
Did you see my comment? I
Did you see my comment? I just explained how to configure notifications.
Another problem
I have joined just one geographically-oriented group (SF Bay Area), but I get email notifications from geographically-oriented groups from ALL OVER (Washington DC, Hyderabad, New Zealand, Boston, Turkey, etc.) I can only imagine this is a bug - is anyone else experiencing this?
Double check the groups
Double check the groups listing in the postings. They will probably have included your SF Bay Area group as one of the groups they send to. If you have any questions, post a link to one of them and we can check it out to be sure.
Aha! Thanks!

Got it, thanks. Yes, they are all cross-posted to various other groups (not necessarily SF Bay Area, often topical).
Yep. Ditto that. Been going
Yep. Ditto that. Been going on for months. Although I haven't minded because some of it's been interesting.
So..
So what your saying is that it is turning off email notifications doesn't turn off email notifications?
Another issue is that the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the email brings me to a 403 access denied though I am currently logged in.
Does anyone know where I can post these as formal issues with groups.drupal.org? OG groups maybe?
Thanks,
Tai
Re: Unsubscribe link 403
Hi Taiger,
I'd like to look into why that's happening for you. Could you please forward the email to me, ideally with full headers? My address is scott@atendesigngroup.com
In general, you can post GDO issues here:
http://drupal.org/project/groupsdrupalorg
If they end up being specific to a particular module, we'll move the issue to the right queue.
thanks Scott
I will email you a sample message. Thanks!
