Open Atrium

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.
This group should probably have more organizers. See documentation on this recommendation.

This group is to relate experiences with Open Atrium and share ideas about this install profile along with understanding and leveraging Spaces, Features, and Contexts for making it work better for you.

Talk with other community members here, in the issue queue on Community.OpenAtrium.com and on IRC in the #open_atrium channel on freenode.net.

If you're just getting started, you might find the documentation pages useful.

Open Atrium as a multi-user blogging platform?

A stripped down version of Open Atrium could serve as a great start for a multi-user blogging platform. Each user could count as a group starting with just the blog feature. Other features could be enabled depending on the requirements of the site. The only thing that would be missing is the option to add custom blocks, or widgets as Buzzr and OnSugar call them.

FYI: How to change maximum allowed dimensions for spaces logo

Struggled a bit today to find out how I could increase the maximum allowed dimensions for the spaces logo, this as I wanted to use the logo as a banner, and it needed to be around 900px wide. Whichever setting I changed in Drupal all I got was:

"The image was resized to fit within the maximum allowed dimensions of 600x600 pixels."

..turns out this is not a setting, but a part of Spaces. To change it find /sites/all/modules/spaces/spaces_design.spaces.inc

..and edit function found at around line 122

<?php
function spaces_design_upload_validate($element, &$form_state) {

FYI: where Case Tracker development happens

In the Open Atrium announcement on Drupal.org, someone asked if Case Tracker has been forked by the Atrium project and if its development is now at GitHub instead of the Case Tracker issue queue on Drupal.org. I asked Eric Gundersen about this at his features session at DrupalCamp LA and learned that Atrium Case Tracker development that happens at GitHub does go upstream to the Case Tracker project on Drupal.org.

Group Intro

Hey Guys!

I've been getting used to the Open Atrium install profile lately and found a lot of things I really like about it. Also, as I've been getting more into Spaces, Features, and Contexts, this install profile has been a great working example of these modules. There have been some questions in my mind about how others are using this install profile and shaping it to fit their needs. I couldn't believe that there wasn't a group for this yet, so I thought I'd start one.

Creating a new installation profile from the DrupalCampLA conference website

The team at This By Them worked with LA Drupal organizers to design and develop a tremendously useful conference website, and released it under the GPL (see case study). With the advent of modules such as Patterns and Features, we are now able to turn this site into customizable/configurable installation profile.
