OC Drupal - November 21st Topic's?

Fresh off a BADCamp hangover, I wanted to get the discussion started about our meetup on the 21st of this month (the day before Thanksgiving).

Mike Stewart recommended giving a state of the Union on Drupal 8 and what we saw in the works at BADCamp...

I concur... I definitely have my 2 cents on the matter :P With less than 4 weeks before code freeze. If you have an idea or gritch about Drupal 8, the time is now to get involved.

Begining a virtual co-learning group

Hey all...

Last year a group of us started a virtual study group to learn how to make custom modules. We had a handful of people join the group. It was fun and I, personally, learned a lot. I'm still not an expert, but I know more than I did then.

Get involved in the OC Drupal October Meetup : Deployment strategies

The main topic for the the October meetup is Drupal Deployment Strategies and what is used in the masses or common best practices. This will be a presentation led discussion followed by round table discussions. We would like to hear from you on ideas or you can even lead the discussion!

Some ideas on discussion are http://drupal.org/project/configuration, your development environment, capistrano for code deployment, developing using VMs to best match production/staging, etc.

If you also have a lightning topic, we'd love to hear from you too!

LA Drupal Business Summit

Hey guys, thought we should probably get a thread on LA / Cali Drupal Business Summits started to get a feel of what we should do to promote Drupal in a community effort in the Southwest. We (KWALL) have been discussing business summits with many of the community at camps / meetups / etc. and would love to volunteer to get this going and ensure that it's a great event to promote Drupal to interested parties, and not just a sales tool.
