Action: Fetch entity by id then set field of fetched entity?

Howdy,
I'm attempting to make a two-way node reference using Rules (D7) for an online magazine. Editors reference articles to their issues. I want Rules to load up a referenced issue and reference the article being saved.

In rules I have the following so far:

Events:

before saving content

Conditions:

content is type: article
AND
node:field-issue:nid is not empty

Actions:

ul>

fetch entity by id (node:field-issue:nid)

User log in rules only from Services

Hi, i'm trying to execute an action related to user login only if the user log in from api provided by Services module. Is there a way to do that? I checked the $account variable and token but there is no information about that.

Programatically setting Workflow state with Rules questions

Hello all,
I have a question which may be answered somewhere, but I've taken a bit of time to search and still haven't found the answer.

I am also not sure which group would be the best place to post my quandary, so I am hoping this group is it.

I have a Workflow where some states for content should be set by a user, while another state should not be settable by a user; it needs to be set when a variable on a piece of content changes to a certain value.

Flagging nodes

After a node has been flagged field_game_action_home I would like it to simply show a message on the site. If the flagged node value equals Win I have attached a screen view of the configuration.

More info I am new to Rules configuration and my plan is to start with something simple, but it's not displaying a message?

Different user email registration rule for different roles

Maybe this as already been answered somewhere else but I don't seem to find a solution for what, seems to me, is a quite basic and common situation related to the user registration workflow. I'll try to explain it.

During a regular user registration the new user can choose one of two roles: "Professional" and "Reseller".
The Professional will receive an email with the link to set the initial password and login imediatly onto the site. This is handled automaticly by the system.

but rule is not working for this event. any solution.

Limiting Flags

I am looking for a way to limit users on the amount of flagging per entity type.

More info:

I have a view that displays 50 node titles of the same content type and I want to create a component so users may flag (using VBO) a limit of 5 only? After that I may clone the component and change it from 5 to 1 or 10 or 20 this way I may apply these components to more views assigning them inside a VBO field?

Scheduled Rules, User Inactivity Notification based on Field contents

Goal: to create a scheduled rule which notifies users who have not commented recently.

I've exhausted all existing rules documentation, including the full learning library at NodeOne. I would really appreciate some help.

"content is viewed" rules not running on "panels" pages..

Hopefully someone can help..

I need a rule to react when content is viewed but it doesn't seem to work on pages that have been laid out using page manager and panels..

I have even created a rule that simply says when content is viewed send me an email.. It works for non-panels pages but not panels pages..

Had anyone else had this?
How do you get a rule to react when panels pages are viewed??

Bot Rules released

Ladies and gentlemen,

it is my pleasure to announce that Bot Rules 7.x-1.0-alpha1 has been released today. It provides basic events, conditions and actions to integrate an IRC bot (using Bot module) with Rules.

What can it be used for? For example, to send new content/comments notifications to IRC, to retrieve data from your site ('Bot, how many new nodes this week?') and more, limited only by your imagination and skill.
