Help with a different taxonomy view and select

Hello again,

Now I have a different problem.

I have an hierarchy in my taxonomy terms.

Vocabulary: Product main category

Terms:

A
--A1
--A2
--A3

B
--B1
--B2
--B3

I want to give the user 2 dropdown lists when they capture a product.

Dropdown one will show:
A
B

Dropdown two will show:
If A selected:
A1
A2
A3

if B selected
B1
B2
B3

I couldn't find a module that can help me with that.

hierarchy select needs a module, that is in development for Drupal 5, and I installed it anyway, but couldn't figure out how to use it.

Drupal newbie

Hi

I'm looking for a few pointers. Could someone please help me out with what the best way (modules, views, etc.) is to do the following:

  • Display content in a hierarchical tree similar to a directory tree. That is basically classify content into a tree with parent child relationships.
  • Rate content with star ratings
  • Create custom fields such as date pickers, list of values based on existing content, check boxes, etc.
  • Allow users to be friends
  • View content in various ways

Thanks

I apologise for this being rather late.

On the 22nd of July the Cape Town Drupal-ers had a meeting at Wembly Square. There are pictures here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/theamoeba/sets/72157621680064919/.

It was nice to see some new faces at the meeting, and also to see some old ones.

Roger Saner (http://groups.drupal.org/user/39178) did a presentation on CCK, Views and other things. Here is a list of the modules:

Table view grouped by taxonomy term - help

Hello,

I am using Drupal 5 and need to create a table view that is grouped by taxonomy term.

I have a content type product, that has main and sub categories.

I want to create a view that gets the main category as an argument and displays all the products for this category, grouped by the sub category and displayed side by side.

For example:

Main category: Fruits

Sub category: Apples
Products:
Apple one
Apple two
Apple three

Sub category: Oranges
Products:
Orange one
Orange two
Orange three

The view will look like this:

Fruits

Apples

Showcases at the next Joburg DrupalMeet

Who would be keen to do a showcase on an intertesting site they have done at the next Joburg DrupalMeet?

We're planning the next one for the 15th of August, a Saturday. The focus of the day will be around building community and introducing people to Drupal. So we'll be looking for sites that make newbies go Oooooooh, Ahhhhhhh :)

We're also planning to break up into smaller groups discussing specific things where people (especially newbies) can ask about things they have been encountering. Some ideas for these groups are:

Design and Theming
Drupal Setup + Basics
CCK+Views

Cape Town Meeting

Start:
2009-07-22 18:30 - 22:00 Africa/Johannesburg
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

I would like to follow a similar approach to meetings as that of the Johannesburg meetings (http://groups.drupal.org/node/23663). We will have 2 sessions, the first a planning, non technical session where we will chat about group stuff such as the format of the next meeting.

The second session will be technical where we will chat about some issues that people are having etc ... I would like to create an agenda, so if you would like to have something on it post a comment with what is hassling you and I will add some of them to the agenda.

Details:

Planning Group 18:30 -> 19:30

Covering: Drupal group stuff (next meeting, assigning tasks on the portfolios, getting feedback on previous tasks, etc)

Cape Town Drupal Meeting (13 June) Wrapup

This was the second Drupal meeting in Cape Town. There were 5 of us and it was quite fun. It was nice to have Willem van Straaten (http://groups.drupal.org/user/155) with us from Johannesburg to see what were about down here and to try and co-ordinate the meeting content between JHB and CPT. Basically there was no agenda for this meeting so we chatted about all sorts of interesting things and it was not very structured.

Discussion and way forward for the Drupal Johannesburg group

We had a great meetup last night, and although it may have felt a bit like a "trustee meeting" to quote Willem, it's a necessary evil to spend time on figuring this stuff out. After the discussion we had 2 cool showcases from George and Greg - thanks for the effort you guys put into it. What follows is a listing of the group goals, portfolios we identified and who's going to be coordinating/running each portfolio, as well as some specific tasks.

Drupal Johannesburg event reminder: Wednesday 10 June 7pm

Don't forget about the next meetup that's going to be held on Wednesday 10 June ( http://groups.drupal.org/node/22681) where we'll be discussing how to grow the group, and recruiting some volunteers to help with group leadership.

On the more fun side, we're got 2 showcases:

Greg will be showing us ArtClub.co.za which was created within less than a week and a half using CCK, Views, QuickTabs, Organic Groups, & Panels in Drupal6. The site caters for the artistically inclined South African featuring Art Schools, Artists, and in time Art Galleries.
