Shared variables on sub-domain
Hi Everyone!
Fabulous, so now have sub-domain working, but what I need is that the user's realname (realname.module and content_profile) show on the sub-domain as currently only the username shows.
I've tried the following in the sub-domain settings, but to no avail ..
$db_prefix = array(
'default' => 'social_',
'users' => 'main_',
'sessions' => 'main_',
'role' => 'main_',
'authmap' => 'main_',
'realname' => 'main_',
'permissions' => 'main_',
'content_type_profile' => 'main_',
'content_node_field' => 'main_',
'content_node_field_instance' => 'main_',
);

Hi Everyone!
Gee, am I struggling to setup a sub-domain that has a separate database but shared users ..
I've done the following:
created a sub-domain at my host that points to mysite.com/sites/subdomain
created a folder sites/subdomain and it has modules, files and themes folder
copied the settings.php file from my default folder (as a test to make it work)
When I go to subdomain.mysite.com all I get is the folders that have been uploaded (modules, files, themes and settings.php)
Multi-site manager is not getting me anywhere :)

I propose here at drupal za that we all get involved in creating an afrikaans translation for drupal 6x and 7x.
This is the current project page http://drupal.org/project/af. The last commit on the page was 3 years ago, I think the project has lost interest completely. I reckon it is up to us as South African drupalers to get this off the ground. The current translation is for drupal 4.7x.
If you are keen check out the [[http://drupal.org/translators]translation process]

Hi Everyone!
In a custom template I have the following code that 'if the user is a certain membership, in this case Platinum' cck fields appear of that specific member.

I would like to add another role (Premium Member) to this code as follows:

Read moreWhich Notebook to buy for travel
Hi,
Sorry if this is off topic, but I've noticed many Drupalers at our meetings with notebooks. I'm looking to buy a notebook to travel with, basically just to check email, add content to the site, etc.
1 or 2 USB ports would be great as well.
Do you perhaps have any suggestions? There seems to be such a large choice available.
Look forward to any reply, and thanx!

Cape Town Community Meeting, 25 Nov
I am organising another Cape Town meetup for the 25th of November.
- Date: - 25 November 2009
- Time: - 18:30 (for 19:00).
- Venue: - Sinns restaurant - http://www.sinns.co.za/directions.htm
PLEASE NOTE: THE VENUE IS SINNS RESTAURANT.
The reasoning for the change is that a restaurant environment is too noisy and does not allow easy presenting etc...
Below is the agenda, please comment if you would like to make ammendments to it.
Agenda:
1. Introduction (15 minutes):
* Who are you and who do you work for?
* Why are you here?
Drupal Joburg Meetup - 18th November, 18:30
As per the post at http://www.drupal.co.za/content/november-meet
It's that time of month again.
This month we're going to be scrumming the drupal.co.za site. So if you want features, changes or additions, RSVP now to make sure there is enough space.
@ The Campus (Le Mans Building 57 Sloane Street Bryanston as usual the event will start promptly at 18h30 on Wednesday the 18th November).
Bring your hacking hats.
Please sign up at drupal.co.za.
Read moreUbercart, 2Checkout and ZAR
Hi Everyone!
I'm finding that South Africa users are not comfortable paying in $US via Ubercart. My credit card system is setup with 2checkout.com ..
How would I create, even if it's another product (though it assigns a role), but in SA currency that would then charge the credit card in ZAR's.
The way I see it one product will be in $US's and the other production in ZAR's, but either assigns the role to the user once payment is complete.
Has anyone perhaps have a solution to this please .. this is a paying job :)
Thanx and look forward to any reply.
Lilian
Well priced training 6mnths-year
Hi South Africa,
I have a question, does anyone know of any companies that are offering a mixed bag of training options that would fit in well with someone going the php opensource direction of web design, something that will be well rounded, basic to advanced and not prohibitively expensive. well rounded being the operative word.

At this meeting we must chat about http://drupal.co.za, as I would like to hear your thoughts on the site and I also have a few concerns that we can bandy around. Other than that the agenda will stay much the same as always, an "informal" gathering of Drupal-ers :).
Would anyone be interested in having a sort of "training" meeting every couple of months where we would organise a training facility like UCT? For sustainance we would organise beer and pizza and everyone would just pitch into the piggy bank.
Read moreLooking for a Drupal developer for help with a view
Hello,
I am looking for a Drupal developer that can help me with a view I need to create.
As I explained in earlier posts, I have a content type called product.
When creating a product, the user can link it to a parent taxonomy term and to several sub taxonomy terms.
The view should display the nodes for a given parent taxonomy term and group them by the sub taxonomy terms.
The problem I have now is that if a product is linked to several sub taxonomy terms, they all appear as one header, which is not what the user want.
