I'm building a set of baseline Drupal features, Debut, and as part of that am needing to standardize on leading Drupal solutions for various areas, including map display and geographic data storage.

Feedback requested for:

• Standardize on Geo as location storage solution
• Standardize on OpenLayers as map client solution

Please provide any insights etc. as comments on those issues.

I have a GMap with several nodes that come from a view and when the user click the node title inside the marker's bubble it get redirected to the actual node. However if the user goes back to the map these values are reset to the initial values and I need to present the map as s/he left it.

Right now I'm saving the latitude, longitude, and zoom in a cookie and successfully recovering these values when the map page is presented again map for some reason the map is not getting centered.

Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I'm using the GMap + Location modules to generate my map and I have the marker type set to numbers. How are the numbers being assigned to the nodes when I'm creating a map using views?

I want to be able to assign a specific number to a specific node/location.

How would I do this?

I guess I could create set it using taxonomy and assigning a number value to each node, but it seems like there's a better way to do this.

My mission is to create a map that is easy to filter, such as http://www.gimmie.se/search/sverige. If you drag the sliders around, you can see that the markers appears/disappears instantly.

This site uses Drupal, Gmap and Views to create the map. I've also accomplished that, but I want to be able to filter my markers just as easy. I believe the way to go is a Javascript that checks every marker in the map object for values, and then hides/shows the marker if the value matches the filter.

So -- what mapping modules are on their way to D7? I don't see any D7-dev versions of the usual suspects yet.

I am looking for a solution to open/show the InfoWindow when hovering the mouse over the corresponding address in a views list. I made a page-view of locations (locations module) and added a gmap showing the corresponding locations as attachment. That works perfect so far. Also the InfoWindows are popping up when clicking one of the markers.

What I am trying to achieve now is that the Infowindow corresponding to the item in the locations list pops up when hovering over the list item. To give you a better idea what I mean take a look at that site:

Basically I'm looking to have it so that users can place markers on a map inside a node.

I imagine it to look something like his:

Basically so the same thing that is in the Gmap Macro builder, but inside nodes that users can use, and put a limit on the number of markers they can place.

When users typed in an address, it put a marker on that place.

I have been trying very hard to do research and test things out.

Currently, I have a project that needs to do proximity searching in Drupal 6 and I spent too much time on searching and testing that my deadline is getting close. Yet, my project is not working yet. I really hope that someone can help me out.

I am hoping someone will be able to help me create a GMap block using Views.

Essentially what I want to be able to do is to take the Google Map that is shown when you click on the "User Locations" link and put it in a Block that can be added to any page (specifically in my case to the Home Page).

I have tried to use Views to do this but I cannot get the Content : Location option to appear in the Views list of Relationships. I expect there are other gaps in my knowledge but so far this is as far as I can get.

Da das noch nicht optimal erscheint, bitte ich hiermit um Tipps, wie das optimiert werden könnte.

Zurzeit ist dies mit einem Inhaltstyp Ort realisiert und die BVG-Widget als Block mit fester Anschrift, der nur bei diesem Node ausgegben wird. Besser wäre es, wenn das BVG-Widget die Adresse vom Node erhält und so für verschiedene Locations funktionieren würde.

Eine Frage wäre auch, wie bei der Ortsangabe die PLZ vor dem Ort ausgegeben werden kann.
