Store locator with proximity

Hi,

I need to make store locator with proximity radius search.

From available solutions have tried:
Google store locator (https://www.drupal.org/node/2384905)
Openlayers + geojson + geofield proximity exposed (https://www.drupal.org/node/2384661)

For now, Google store locator don't uses proximity filter or bbox argument, so this option is out.

Other option with openlayers, problem is that openlayers + geojson isn't working at all, and geofield exposed filter is returning search results, but location of search is not centered after search is conducted.

    Mapping improvements

I'm opening this discussion for brainstorming Mapping improvements.

I think many of the ideas discussed here may be worked later on sprints. @dasjo also came with the idea of doing a sprint during DrupalCon, which would be VERY interesting!

My plan is to use GeoJSON as the main layer type on Mapping, whenever it's possible. This approach will allow better integration with Views and later using BBOX strategy.

I've done some successful tests with GeoJSON on Mapping Leaflet sandbox.

I have some new ideas for Views integration. By "new" I mean some ideas that are not currently being used in other mapping modules. Some of them are:

Allow any View based on fields to output GeoJSON as a JS

Geocluster: Server-side clustering for mapping in Drupal based on Geohash

    hi everybody,

finally, i'm finishing my master thesis on Geocluster, a Drupal 7 module that aims at enabling scalable maps with more than 1,000,000 items or nodes by clustering based on Geohash with MySQL or Apache Solr.

you can go ahead to the module page to check out the module and see if it fits your requirements
    http://drupal.org/project/geocluster

in addition, here's the link to the final draft of my master thesis on Geocluster

also check out the poster as a visual summary of Geocluster and the thesis

Clarity on Google Maps terms of service, and alternatives

Hey, gang. While my site is in development, I'm using Google Maps for both geocoding and map display. But there are a few issues that might make that a poor choice for the production site:

    <

    ol>

  • Nearly all of the mapping is private, visible only to the admin (me).
  • My map points just disappeared suddenly. I suspect it's because I've gone over the limits, but it's not clear to me. I know there's a 2,500-request geocoding limit; but once you've geocoded an Address Field, no more geocoding calls are needed, right?

Quick and easy D7 distro to evaluate Leaflet

    Hey locators and mappers,

I recently evaluated Leaflet for a Drupal 7 project and it took a little while to figure out the right recipe to get locations with geocoding and mapping. I've coalesced some of that setup and configuration research into a distribution. It's only a sandbox project but I thought it might be useful for others looking to evaluate a Drupal GIS stack that includes:

Multiple node locations feed one map?

At this point, I'm essentially working with a restaurant directory. I need to have (1) a map on each page (node) denoting the location of the restaurant, and (2) an overall map that features the locations from each restaurant (so a multi-node map). These locations will need to be read from a postal add

    1. I've been able to create this single map using OpenLayers, GeoField, and Geocoder. But I'd also like this map to have the ability to input a start address and give directions. So far I haven't been able to accomplish that.

    some idea?

    Hello,
I would like to make a view for one map. I guess the view will show certain types of content types.
based on my research & practice, I figured out it is easy to implement. However, I do now want to show them on actual map such as Google map view or Bing, Mapquest, etc.
I wish I can show locations on one layer (just State boundary; like shapefile). then users can click the loation(point) & it should connect to the node page.

I could not found the option in gmap, or openlayer module.

Does any one know how to do this? please give me some tips.

    Thanks,
