OP, Feeds, OpenCalais and Semantic Proxy
I had used the D6 with separate modules for opencalais and feeds for aggregation of my feeds.
Recently I jumped in for OP stock version OpenPublish-2.3-Build441 and set up the test site. There are a few issues related to above.
-
The feed content type is missing
(is that right or I missed something?) -
I do not see Social tags and Semantic Proxy option in Calais Node processing options?
(I wonder if the same module in D6 provide me with semantic proxy, why i dont see it in OP, has the calais module been changed?)
Any clues to the above.
TIA

Hi,
We've got a problem on our site with how our different OpenCalais taxonomy topics are being displayed and aren't sure how it should best be dealt with.
First of all it seems that there are two types of views for different groups of OpenCalais taxonomy terms;
- The 'topics' view, which creates a readable, 'content about [topic]' page and already has a view created. This page is fine and looks like this; http://www.highfrequencytraders.com/topics/CME%20Group
GUID on taxonomy terms?
I remember hearing talk about the need for a new database field to be added to Drupal core taxonomy.module's term_data table to stash the GUID/UUID/URI associated with a term. This was particularly relevant for sharing/importing/exporting taxonomies and using standard vocabularies. I suspect it also has relevance to RDF, but my comprehension is still a bit hazy on it.
OpenCalais calais.module adds a column 'guid' to the term_data table. I can't imagine that there would be any collision risks if other modules insert in this field as well for their own vocabularies.

I ran across a new memetracker built on Drupal/OpenCalais and custom code. It looks very cool. Check it out at Polymeme.com
They're tracking some 25,000 blogs and apparently running them all through OpenCalias as part of the process for finding "memes" along with some human editorial touch.
The creator of polymeme writes more about the site on his blog:

OpenCalais module released
ThompsonReuters and Phase2 have released the OpenCalais Drupal module for both D5 and D6. Note that this is not the same as the previously announced but unreleased Calais module.
It submits content to OpenCalais and gets back a set metadata that it maps to Drupal vocabularies and terms. The results can be automatically inserted into the database or merely suggested to node authors.
