main wrapper
Is there a main wrapper div already in place? I'm asking as I want to use full background images and colors and I can't seem to see anything in the UI for the zones and regions where I can spec a main wrapper.
Is this something that runs contrary to the responsive design of Omega?
Or do I need to add it in a template file, if so where and how?
Thanks!
PS
Is the answer just to use the page div as shown below? Or is there a better way? I've been used to using Fusion in D6, which had main wrapper divs.
Here's what I found so far:

Hi everyone
I'm new to the group and relatively new to Drupal but am learning quickly.
My main bug-bear at the moment and something that is driving me crazy is how to create a simple user entry whereby they can select from a drop down a UK region and then city (the city drop down should relate to the region if possible). I need this because the whole website is based around user location for survey requirements.

I am working with a sub-theme of Acquia Marina 2. I have copied the info file from Acquia into my sub-theme folder and added 1 additional region in the preface area, so there are now 4 regions. I have renamed them preface_left, preface_middle_left, preface_middle_right and preface_right. I have also copied the page.tpl.php file into my sub-theme folder, changed the names of the regions and added the additional region by copying and pasting the div. I then copied the style.css into my sub-theme folder, added it on the .info file, and put in the following code:

I start loving Acquia Marina since i found Drupal for its beauty and multiple regions, but now I'm facing the problem to add a preface region to the three originals.
I would like to have 4 preface regions 'cause I have 4 topics of the website and it would be a great stuff to position 'em in the preface bar.
Do you have any idea or can anybody please help me?
Thank you very much
Read morePanels to access drupal regions out of $content
Two days ago i was working on a page and introduced Panels 3. The page was designed without panels and already provided specific design regions such as the right and left column. So panels was ought to improve the situation...
But then suddenly it came clear there's some mismatch with those two.
If you have blocks enabled - panels will remain in the content part and your ability to modify the whole presentation is pretty limited.
Nyheter i egen region
Hej!
Behöver man göra något mer?

Hey folks,
I've got a block which creates a popup using jquery. But my client wants the popup to appear over the main content, to the right of the block, which is in the left sidebar. But the part of it that stretches over the boundary, outside of the left sidebar, is not visible. I tried using z-index, and that doesn't help.

Last week I started the challenge to upgrade <a href="http://testedgroup.com" target=_blank">my custom zen sub-theme from zen 5.x-0.7 to zen 5.x-1.0 which has taken a couple more hours effort than I had originally expected. The outcome so far however was worth the effort. Thanks JohnAlbin and contributors.
With the excellent documentation, I have decided to start and modify my frontpage from the traditional river of news to display NODE-X that wraps around BLOCK-X displayed on the right hand side of the content. Now I have hit a barrier and I need your input...
