The second monthly meeting of the Florida Drupal group met on Saturday, May 17 at MindComent's offices in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Attendance was great, with 8 new people in addition to 10 who also attended the April meeting.

Joe Moraca gave a "getting started with Drupal" talk that covered everything from downloading the code from Drupal.org to transitioning from a development server to a production server. Some of the many topics touched on were:

• Resources on Drupal.org

I am currently en route to hong kong and I will be there for the next few days, anyone want to meetup ? I won't have a phone while I am down there so please email me ic you'd like to as well posting here. I'm excited to meetup with some hongkongers!!

I need to make sure to have enough places for everyone to sit and clear out the necessary clutter. I estimate we can comfortably fit 8-10 people in here without moving furniture, so I need to know if there will be more than that.

Anyone interested in getting together to do a show-and-tell group in NW Philly? I've got space at my company's office where we can fit up to around 10 people, and I think it would be really great to have an informal group where we can go over projects, discoveries, techniques, and issues. It's a cool space on a cool block, easily accessible by Septa or car for those not in the area. And once we're done we go across the street for drinks and food.

Possible dates: Apr 22, 23, or 24, or May 6, 7, or 8. I could also have it on a weekend if there's interest.

About a dozen Drupal developers met at Orlando Public Library yesterday to discuss Drupalcon Boston and future meetups in Orlando.

I gave a presentation about Drupalcon Boston covering Dries' keynote, the future of Drupal, and a quick summary of some of the sessions I attended. The rest of the time was spent with discussion introducing ourselves to each other and planning for future meetings and what we need to do to for the Florida group to gain some momentum.

Yea it was just Christopher and I, but we decided on having a meeting anyway to figure out some things we had questions about and discussed some other resolutions to problems.

Hello, I've touched base with Eric (rapidsynergy)--from his earlier post regarding a meetup and we're both interested in setting something up. I've offered to host the meeting where I work, at the CPTV/WNPR Studios in Hartford. We don't have a date set yet, but we're hoping either for the end of this month (April) or beginning of next--some weeknight/evening (after work).
