Thursday marked our first meetup of the Hong Kong Drupal group. Though a handful of people had signed up, it turned out just to be database abstraction guru Edison Wong and me. Edison showed me some really cool stuff he's worked on for Sony Playstation Asia. And he was nice enough to show interest in the multisite and jquery stuff that I've been working on too.

We have tentative plans to have another meetup around the end of April. Hope to see you all then.

Are there any plans in the works for DrupalDrinks on Saturday night? I won't be able to make it on Saturday, but I'd love to catch up with those whom I know, and get to know those who I've never met.

All that learning might hurt your brain without a little injection of alchohol- anyone interested in meeting up after the Saturday sessions for a drink and/or some food? If so, when/where?

So I want to get the Hong Kong meetup ball rolling. I'm willing to spearhead things, but I need help finding a location. Being as I haven't lived here that long I don't know where is a good place to meet. I think it'd be great if we had a group established before Jacob gets here in May. So I'm proposing that we get together to to meet each other and answer a few questions. Some things to figure out:

For those who don't know, Nexpo is a gigantic trade show put on by the Newspaper Association of America every year. Over at my day job, I'm a member of the NAA, and this interview was with the NAA monthly trade magazine.

Hey all- so it looks like the majority has spoken and we will be meeting up on Wednesday, February 27th, at 7:00PM. The meetup will be held at Nodding Head Brewery, located at 1516 Sansom St. on the 2nd Floor.

Some of the members here know that I currently live about 60 minutes outside of Nashville and because of this, my ability to really lead the Nashville Drupal Group has been a bit lax. Well I have good news. Our family is moving to the Hermitage area in late March! This means that I will be able to take on a much more active role in promoting Drupal in the Nashville area. I have high hopes for making the Nashville Drupal Group an very active community in the coming year.

Given that there's no official Drupal meetup this month, is anyone interested in getting together for an informal pre-DrupalCon Drupal meetup? We could just meet for drinks, we could allow people to bring projects they're working on that they need help/advice on, or both/neither. Or, hell, we could just have a Drupal 6 release party.

Anyway, I'm obviously down for a meetup before DrupalCon (I need a drink and am grasping at straws here people!), anyone else?

I was thinking we could start discussing what we want in our next meeting (March hopefully). A couple ideas that were discussed quite a bit were multisite configuration, SCORM, and probably more that Im just spacing right now. A couple of ideas that I have thought could be helpful as well are Drupal 6, and AJAX in Drupal.

Obsidian is on the corner of Kelly and Bosbok streets in Randpark Ridge. From Beyers Naude, traveling away from the city once over the N1 you take the 3rd robot right into Yesterhout, the 1st street left into Kelly the 1st street left into Bosbok and the 1st entrance left into Obsidian parking area.
