commons

I would like to build a features that can be easily integrated with any drupal site but I am going to use common as a focus of my project since social network is big adapter of this technology .

The port of Commons to Drupal 7 will begin shortly so I think it is time to start some discussions on the theming aspects. Probably the best way to begin would be with me giving my opinions and then we can go from there.

We are interviewing Commons communities and doing research on successful Commons and social business communities. We are specifically looking for community feedback on what constitutes an MVP for Commons. This will help define an initial release of Commons on D7 and allow early, continual feedback in shaping the future of Commons!

Commons 2.5 was released today. This is a significant release for a number of reasons, including some significant UX improvements. We also added Question & Answer functionality which is very important for both internal and external communities. There was a significant UX focus on this release with usability testing being very helpful. This was very informative and initiated a change in login/landing on the Activity Stream to a site landing page. This was validated in the usability testing, discussions with users and a survey of successful community sites.

This is my first post on drupal.org, so hi everyone and nice to meet you :)

I'm localizing Commons to Hebrew at http://hakaveret.org.il and using i18n, l10n update and l10n client modules.

I've managed to fetch .po localization files for all module except the commons modules. I've read somewhere that disabling the commons update module would resolve the issues, but that didn't work either.

I'm trying to build a site like http://www.moneysupermarket.com/, a simple review and offer site with a lot of content. This site will have different content for different countries. However, some contents are common among all countries.

Is it a good idea to build it with Commons? do you know any installation profile for this? What is the best way of sharing content among sites?
