Can I clone a node, but with different node type with rules?

I would like to create the following rule (but without success so far):
I have 2 content types: idea & discussion.
In idea content type I have added a cck field named "status" (a select list) that has: registered, approved.

Here is the rule I want to have:

If node type is idea AND field "status" is approved

Then clone the node but with as type discussion.

Any ideas how to do that?

Thanks a lot,

S.

Using rules to send an email x days after a user registers

Hi,

Hoping someone can advise. I need a module(s) that can send an email to a new user x number of days after they register to the site.

Essentially, I have been tasked with creating a membership site with different levels of membership from basic to premier. When a user signs up as a basic (normal authenticated) user I need the site to email them automatically (ideally via cron) after a week if they haven't signed up to become a premier member.

I've looked at the newsletter (simplenews) with scheduler, messaging, bulk operations, rules and yet I'm still drawing a blank.

Check field is null using Truth Value

Hello,

I'm attempting to check whether a CCK field is Null using a Truth Value, the code i'm using is as follows:

[node:field_facebook-formatted]!=""

But everytime it runs it returns TRUE as it performs the action.

Does anybody know how to resolve this.

Many Thanks,

Jonathan

Check for value in filefield

Is there a way to check if a file or files have been uploaded in a content type? I'm trying to determined if a picture has been uploaded.

I have tried to check if a filefield contains a value, but I am getting an error message that my argument #2 is not an array in the cck content.rules.Inc file.

Any hints? How can I do that with php?

Using Rules to update a file location

Hi all,

I have a little dilemma that I need some help on. I am building a site that allows anonymous users to upload three files during the account creation process. This is enabled through content profile and uses the filefield to upload the file. The account is then blocked pending review from a manager of the site via Drupals default account creation settings.

Since the user that uploads the file(s) does not yet exist in the system by the time the file(s) are uploaded, the file(s) are created under user 0. I am using the following filefield path settings: profile/[uid]/audio.

Check null value in form field

Hi,

Just started with this awesome module!

I am trying to create a rule where 'form element fieldname value check' needs to look at the field, and do something only if it is a null value. Entering 'null' in the value text area does not do the job. Leaving it blank is not possible as it is a mandatory field. How do I do this with rules, without hacking the other module that is creating the form?

Thanks
Srini

P.S.

Screencast introducing Rules

I've just recorded an introduction on how to use the awsome Rules module!
It can be seen on NodeOne's blog.

The screencast is a pilot case on doing semi-regular screencasts in English. (We've been doing them in Swedish for a while.) If you think that this is worth watching and would like to have more unprestigious screencasts, please write a comment on our blog.

Cheers!

Anyone done Rules performance checks?

Ok, I've been using the Rules module enough to know that I really* like it, but I still consider myself at the playing-around level.
Why? Because I can't yet use Rules on a production site. It's cool, inspiring and really useful, but I don't know if my site will choke when Rules gets hit by 1000 visitors in one minute or what happens when I get a crazy amount of nodes.

So, I'm curious: Has anyone made performance checks on some rules?

Question on available Form tokens in the rules module

I'm attempting to create workflow to consolidate our departments approval process for internal procedures. Want to have user submit request, and have it be routed to managers / directors based on conditions in the form. Seems fine so far, but I'm hung up trying to send an email to users with a link to the form url. I can't seem to find this as a token in the rules module. I copied all available tokens as displayed in the rules page and pasted them into the message but nothing seems to create a link to the node itself.

Action to set node commenting to read only

Hi,

I have been looking for an action to set a node's commenting status to read only (deny new comments). My rules trigger and condition - changes in a CCK field - works fine but I am struggling with the action part. The following "read/write" to "read only" toggle code example looks promising but I can't get it to work in my Drupal 6 environments. Could somebody help me with my poor PHP skills?

<?php
if(!module_exists("comment"))
return;
if($enabled)
$status = COMMENT_NODE_READ_WRITE;
else
$status = COMMENT_NODE_READ_ONLY;
$node->comment = $status;
