Rendering View Result as a Control within another View..
Hi All
i'm trying to make a view which i can do some operations like this image [attached]

the Registerlinks is shown based on the user Roll , and i want to send an argument within that link
is that applicable ?
View Discrepancy
My feed item(s) view, per the preview function:
http://j.gravelle.us/Portals/0/OP_ViewPreview.png
...versus the actual result as produced in production:
http://j.gravelle.us/Portals/0/OP_ViewResult.png
It doesn't appear the CSS is obfuscating the layout. Clues?
Thanks,

Read moreHow to create a Panel with an exposed form created with a View
Is this even possible?
I am using panels 6.x-3.x-dev and the latest Views module. I am trying to make a directory search page with Panels and am having problems with the output of a form that I am creating by exposing the input with Views. The page would be made up of two panels - one a glossarized directory listing (this works fine in the panel), the other an exposed form for a proximity search and a taxonomy filter. I have the View created and it works fine - the view exists with display types 'Page' and 'Content Pane'. Both outputs work fine in the Views preview, and the Page display type works when I visit the page's set url.
When I try to add either of the View's outputs [page or content pane] in a panel, nothing displays when I preview the panel or visit the panel's url. When I add the page type to the panel, I use the "Override URL:" option to enter the path of the Panel Page.

Hello all, and thanks for the great view module, especially to merlinofchaos.
I did some research and did not find a thing even remotely connected to this so I'll try to explain the problem and the few solutions I have in mind, hoping the experts here will be able to guide me toward means to realize them or advice me. Or plug my nose on a "fucking manual 'RTFM' way".
I thought this http://drupaleasy.com/blogs/ryanprice/2008/06/using-views-2-drupal-6-cre... and this thread http://groups.drupal.org/node/37414 could be related but I think my case is more general. Slap me if I am wrong. ;)
The problem :
Let's imagine we have a newspaper-like publication.
You have a top story, on top of the page, and then fixed topics (about cats, dogs, new news, old stories, whatever).
Every story is "tagged" in taxonomy, and can belong to several ones...
Of course, on the front page you want :
- the most recent story in the top story panel
- the most recent story in every topic in the fixed panel dedicated to that topic, but one that is NOT the top story and NOT already a frontage story for another topic (not already the most recent story for a "previously rendered" topic that is not the "top story")
Said more simply : a "story" should appear once and only once on the frontpage being as the top story or the featured story in a topic.
Read moreFlera noder i en view
Hejsan!

How to to set a panel page's title to the title of an embedded view?
Using latest Panels 5.x-2.x-dev
I have a panel page where the main content area is an embedded View. This view takes arguments which become part of its title, so the title changes dynamically (it's a year/month archive drill-down view). (See screenshot attached)
I want to set the title of the overall panel page to the embedded view's title. Anyone know how to do this? If it can't be done through the UI (which I suspect), please suggest code approaches.
This forum seems pretty quiet, hoping some of the experts are still out there!
Read moreUsing views to display posts in all groups that any user belongs to
Hi all, I'm having a bit of a quandry because I think I'm trying to do something that might not possible using the Views module: I'm trying to display recent posts from all the Organic Groups that a user belongs to. For example, say I have a user whose has a drupal username of "ben" and belongs to three groups. There is a page for each user on the site, in the format "users/[username]", so in this case we have the page "users/ben". On this page I'd like to list recent posts made in all three groups that ben belongs to.
Read moreView Handler methods "query()" and "pre_render()"
Hi
What is the purpose of the View handler method query()?
Using a skeleton class that traces the calling of the View handler methods, I see that method query() is called before method pre_render(). Is there an expected work flow relation between these two methods?
Thanks

Read moreProposal-Custom Parametric Search Module
Overview: This project aims to provide an easy mean for site developers to create custom parametric search forms and result pages for different content types, much like those of e-commerce sites. The current idea is to create a module for creating search UI depending on CKK and Views. This module will provide flexibility for combining search parameters (operations, priorities, dependences, etc.) and customizability in the look of both search forms and result pages.
