Welcome to VANDUG!
The Vancouver Drupal Users Group (VanDUG) is the local meeting place for Greater Vancouver people interested in Drupal. We were formerly known as the Vancouver League of Drupalers, but that's a long story.
The group mostly hangs out on Slack at https://vandug.slack.com/. We also post our meetings on Meetup.com at https://www.meetup.com/Vancouver-Drupal-Users-Group. All are welcome, it's listed as a private group to keep out the griefers.
We've been holding semi-regular virtual meetings during COVID-19.

Story on Drupal in Vancouver - websites, ideas?
Hi all, I'm going to be talking to Business in Vancouver next week about Drupal's connection to Vancouver.
I'd like your help compiling a list of cool Vancouver companies, service providers, consultants, and interesting / portfolio websites that are powered by Drupal.

A question on education
I'm considering some education to further my knowledge in the area of website development, possibly to transition my career (from Network Infrastructure Management). Areas could include:
- Sales/marketing
- Business management
- Consulting practices
- (Web) design principles
- HTML, CSS
- PHP
- Javascript/JQuery
- Databases
- Applications, i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, etc
- and so on. . .
One Step Back Two Steps Forward..
From reading the many posts on the topic of images its obvious that drupal needs some work.
I am a newbie to drupal although I have implemented a template on a drupal backend www.klainc.ca
I have a background in custom software development in the Industrial Automation & Integration field. Experience in VB & ASP.NET, MsSQL Server and lately I have been working my way in to Web Design/Development using PHP & MySQL with Drupal.
I also have great love of photography and if could find a way to make money at it I would do it full time.

Drupal Social #6
Hey there fellow drupal enthusiasts!
We are gathering again at Bart's, and may migrate to the Doubles Lounge across the hall in the Executive Inn. The Lounge can be quite a bit less noisy and usually more space, plus it has that nifty Victorian darkwood lounge atmosphere.
I generally show up around 6:30 for a bit of vittles, they have great food and a number of local beers on tap.
Some of the things that may be discussed are:
- Experiences/Storires from Drupal Camp Victoria 2008 (#DCVIC08) Link
- Switching to Drupal 6, explain the pain/glory
- Possible ideas/suggestions for #DCVIC09
September 2008 Meeting: Install Profiles
Join us at 6:30pm on Thursday September 25, 2008 at Raincity Studios for the Vancouver League of Drupalers September meeting. This month's feature presentation: Install Profiles with Angus Pratt. Join us for an overview and hands-on demonstration of how Drupal install profiles will speed and improve the quality of your Drupal installations.
If anyone attending DrupalCon would like to give a quick summary, we'd be honoured to hear it.
We still have a slot available for a mini-case study if someone wants to volunteer.
