Vancouver

Welcome to VANDUG!

The Vancouver Drupal Users Group is the local meeting place for Greater Vancouver people interested in Drupal. We were formerly known as the Vancouver League of Drupalers, but that's a long story. We generally meet once a month (typically the 4th Thursday) on a variety of topics, both technical and non-technical. There is no cost to join the group or attend our monthly meetings.

We have a sister group in the Lower Mainland, the Surrey Drupal Users Group that meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Many people are members of both groups.

Hey all -

Just another PSA here, to let everyone know there's now a Twitter account set up if you want to follow for meetup reminders, etc. at http://twitter.com/vandug. The group admins all have access to the password, and if one of us gets fancy, we'll set up some kind of hashtag retweeter system.

Recommendation for Co-working space

Hi folks

After attend and present a session in Drupal North (Toronto) I will be a week (Jun 29 to Jul 5th) in Vancouver.

I am wondering if someone of you can recommend to me a Co-working space in Vancouver and check if during that week you will held a Drupal Meetup.

Thanks in advance and sorry for disturbing you.

Drupal Meetup: Code-Driven Development powered by Ægir, GIT, and Drush

Start:
2015-05-28 18:30 - 20:00 America/Vancouver
Organizers:

The perfect workflow for Drupal website development has proved as elusive as the proverbial Grail. Ideally, a manageable workflow would be to have as much code-driven development as possible. While Drupal 8 Configuration Management Initiative will get us closer to that ideal than ever before, it won’t be perfect and we will still have to develop and maintain Drupal 7 websites for a few more years. Much of the latest efforts and discussion around Drupal development workflow has focused on code-driven strategies. Despite all the advancements, database configuration syncing still remains painful and error- prone. Features do not capture all the database configuration work and it can be somewhat time-consuming both to featurize in a proper modularized fashion and replicate the remainder.
