Running cron every minute

How do I run cron on my site every minute that is managed by boa. It seems like everytime I change the cron to a minute, it automatically changes to 1 hr after sometime. pls explain.

Hello. 3 times this weekend I upgraded both barracuda and octopus. However, when i tested octopus by making a new site with drupal standard, it stayed at 7.12 and not 7.14, dont know what my next step is. thanks.

Best strategy for offline backup of Octopus instances

Hi,

I have a number of Octopus instances and would like to create an offline backup routine for each of them. This may be more due to my lack of understanding with Rsync and relevant switches (I am using luckybackup as a GUI to Rsync). I have setup ssh keys for each octopus instance (the *.ftp users) to create password less logins and have successfully run the Rsync backup script through luckbackup. However all it seems to create on the local drive is replica of symlink to the actual backup directory and it does not backup any of the tar files.

My thoughts are as follows:

500 server error on my sites after OCTOPUS upgrade

Hi,
I have just tried to upgrade BARRACUDA and then OCTOPUS from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3. The first went fine but after updating OCTOPUS all of my sites are showing 500 server error. Some of them have a the front displayed but whenever i click on a link i got the server error. Did somebody meet this issue ?

help!
i was running the upgrade of barracuda midway walked away from the computer for a while, (i meant to get up but fell asleep, oops)
it was asking the question if i wanted to install something yes or no when connection crashed

now i have tried to run it again to complete its upgrade and i get this:

what do I do now after my blockhead mistake? how do i make it continue?

I think omega8cc did an amazing job creating BOA and the response time in the issue queue is blazing fast. The only thing missing is good documentation. At the moment i push every little piece of knowledge i get to the community wiki page. http://groups.drupal.org/node/163784

I would like to ask people to join me and think about a more structured documentation than this one page only :)

The most obvious way to do it would be splitting up the docs for barracuda / octopus and move it to drupal.org

Need advise to migrate existing sites to BOA

Hello,

I have an existing site (Drupal and phpBB3).
Each one use sub-folder in /var/www/ (/site for Drupal and /forum for phpBB3). File structure is like that:
-www
--forum
--site
----sites
-------all
-------default
-------secondsite.com

Another Drupal site (via multisiting) uses the same files and database.

There is a way to migrate all this to BOA?
Do I really need to install Octopus, or just Barracuda is enough?

There is some tips and warning that I must know?

With BOA being more of a distribution that is managed through your company, is there a way for folks like myself to plug in, other than through normal use and open an issue, to the testing process in a way that allows you to vet out certain platform or situation specific scenarios?

Node.js with BOA

Has anyone gotten node.js to play nicely with BOA recently? I got this working about 6 months ago (BOA site with a separate node.js server connecting) but trying again now and seems to be some funky issue. I might be missing something small but as far as I can tell messages are not being sent to node.js OR they are being sent really slowly. There seems to be something catching on the server perhaps. Maybe I need to disable caching or something.

Just wanted to check if anyone else had any tips here. Thanks...

Subdomain Question

Hi,

I'm currently looking at getting some university sites I run swapped from default Drupal 7 on a LAMP stack to BOA. Our current file structure relies heavily on sub-folders, which I've only recently realized is not supported by Aegir.

The solution for us appears to be something like this:

*.ourdomain.com wildcard in DNS
*.ourdomain.com subdomains for each instructor site we'd create

So our sites would look something like this:

jones1.ourdomain.com
jones2.ourdomain.com
walker1.ourdomain.com
walker2.ourdomain.com
walker3.ourdomain.com

look, i just cannot understand this drush thing especially in relation to aegir. i have been stuck for months because i couldnt add modules or themes and i didnt want to look stupid. well, too late for that. i mean, i have looked at drush tuts on youtube and on the web, nothing seems to work. its like reading a book with pages missing. can somebody just tell me exactly what drush stuff on preloaded on BOA?

Has anyone thought of putting together a virtual image with BOA installed. I think this would remove some barriers and give BOA some more userfans. I know this would help me in my workflow, but I don't have chops to do it myself.

Reinstalling Barracuda aegir master install?

Hi,

Does anyone know how i can reinstall the barracuda aegir master host master? I deleted the platform when i tried uninstalling Barracuda when i thought of using open panel however when i did my research i decided to use barracuda aegir. Problem now is i cannot reinstall the aegir master instance, as i get a message saying "UPGRADE ERROR: Something (2) is wrong, we should stop now..", when i run the BARRACUDA.sh.txt script.

Does anyone know how i can reinstall the aegir master instance or the whole Barracuda aegir instance?

We are working on a commerce site with the following caracteristics:

We have 4 different roles (anomymous, standard, special and admins).
We have a shopping cart block visible in all pages (except checkout). This is of course a dynamic block that varies per user, not per role.
All users and roles can see this shopping cart block (including anonymous, as everybody can order to us).
The content (markup) displayed in most pages vary per rol.

Aptitude and Apt-get command problems after barracuda install

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you can help. I've recently installed Barracuda on a fresh debian vps. Everything went well however, i can no longer use the aptitude and apt-get commands for anything e.g.. updating os, installing other packages. i keep getting this message-

"Err http://ftp.uk.debian.org squeeze Release.gpg
Could not connect to host:port, connection timed out"

I've contacted my hosting company and they think its something to do with the Barracuda install. Any idea how i can resolve this problem? Thanking you in advance.

Moving D7 site from Barracuda to another server - WSOD

Hello all!

I've use Barracuda/Octopus/Aegir system for one of my projects. Now I want to move to another server, without BOA.

After copying files, loading mysql dump I've gota problem. After clearing cache site went to WSOD. The same error appeared in any developer enviroment.

Any suggestions?
