I'm hoping some local colleagues (and more skilled developers) can offer some advice on this problem.
Have any of you run across this problem: "Search does not index comments subject to node access" https://www.drupal.org/node/1396534.
There is a patch that seems to work--at least it resolved the problem on my Drupal 7 site. But this seems like a big enough problem that it's surprising there isn't more talk about it online, and that the patch hasn't been incorporated into an update. Is there some more obvious fix that I'm overlooking?

Hey Alex is back! That's right, this month he will be discussing Behat as a development framework. This is not a Drupal specific framework but is certainly used with many Drupal projects.
As always, there will be food and drinks provided by AppliedTrust so I hope to see you there.

Fresh off the heels of Drupalcon New Orleans, let's get together and discuss our favorite parts. What things did you leave with excited to start doing? What new things did you learn about? What sessions were your favorites?
If you missed out on going, come find out which recordings you should be watching. If you were able to go, come share your newfound knowledge with the rest. This will be more of an open conversation!
Pizza and socializing starts at 6:30 p.m.
Discussion and presentations start at 7.

Last month, during the Drupal 8 Panel, Gabe Sullice talked about some of the gaps in D8's out-of-the-box RESTful tools. This month, he's going to demo a contrib module he's built that looks to fill those gaps. We'll use this module to take a deeper look at D8 module development - coverering things like services, dependency injection, custom routes and controllers, and custom configuration management.
Pizza and socializing starts at 6:30 p.m. Discussion and presentations start at 7. At 8:30 we'll head down to Renegade Brewing to continue hanging out.

Here's my thought:
This would more technical and for more advanced users and we'll be playing with Drupal 8.
It would be either a half- or full-day get together at Belmar Library. I'd prefer to plan for a full day.
We'd meet on a Saturday (my preference), but we could choose a different day (maybe a Friday?) based on interest. Note that the library is open only from 12 - 5 on Sundays. (http://jefferson.lib.co.us/locations/belmar-library)
I'll reserve a meeting room. (It's free)
