It is rapidly approaching the last Monday in July--scary, huh? You know what this means!
On Monday the 27th, at 7pm, we will be having our monthly Drupal meetup at Spark Central in Ann Arbor. While no hard topic is set yet, feel free to come with your ideas or post them as a comment to this thread. Metro Detroit Drupal Group Meet-up
We will be having an informal meet-up at Starbucks. In the future I will be setting up a more formal location.

East side and West Side Meetups
Thanks for putting the east side (Oakland U) meetup together. In the past we've met over on the east side as well (Rochester), but for many of us West-siders it was WAY to far to drive (Ann Arbor group is closer to me than even Troy). So, just FYI, I think we'll be trying to have some meetings over on the West side as well to accommodate those of us over here.

Since polling everybody's opinion recently, there appears to be at least 10-12 persons who are interested to meet in the Metro Detroit area. Since the Ann Arbor Drupal Group meets on the last Monday of each month, a meeting on Tuesdays during the second week of the month sounds like a terrific complement if there are folks who wish to attend both.
Please RSVP for the first gathering in the Troy area or vicinity on Tuesday July 14, 2009. If 1-2 members are willing to assist, that would be greatly appreciated.

Southeast Michigan Theming Seminar
Bob Christenson (aka Rob Feature) from Mustardseed Media, Inc. will be teaching this seminar on "real world" Drupal theming. He will be talking more about the practical "how to theme" and will NOT be doing in depth detail on how the Drupal theme system works (although we'll cover the basics of course).
This event will cover the same material being presented at the NYC Theming Session on January 24.

We have recently met at the Roch. Hills Library, but I have just been offered a different meeting location and I thought I'd share it with the group and see what you all thought. At the last meeting a number of you mentioned an interest in meeting a bit further West.
The location I was offered is the meeting room at Coach's Olympia Grill. It can seat up to 60 people and has a built in projector we can use.

I am the leader of the Iowa Drupal users group. Our group is setting our November meeting agenda to participate on IRC #drupal-support for our November meeting. The Ann Arbor Group has pledged to do the same. Please consider joining us. Don't change your meeting time, just set your agenda to be quality support on IRC #drupal-support. This event has now passed. Thanks for all who attended!
Come join us for a totally free Drupal 6 theming workshop. This casual training will walk through building a Drupal 6 theme from scratch, start to finish.
Your group leader will be building a basic theme for a company website based off a Photoshop mockup. He will build the theme and talk about what he's doing and why he's doing it. You can ask basic questions along the way but, due to the compressed timeline of the workshop, we won't stop the workflow to answer anything extremely complex (or go off in directions that don't pertain to the theme being built).

In this comment I mentioned that I'd like to demo how to podcast (audio or video) using a new CCK/Views method for Drupal 6. You can check out a video podcast on this method now, if you're interested. I'm hoping lots of people find that this method of podcasting makes sense and start to go this route.
